Spruce Cafe

Crema's Take
“Spruce Cafe captures that coveted neighborhood gem feeling with genuinely warm staff and a cozy, authentic local vibe that keeps people lingering over breakfast. Their fluffy pancakes and excellent bagel and lox stand out when executed well, though consistency seems to be their challenge—some visits deliver an 8/10 experience while others fall flat with rushed service and subpar ingredients. If you catch them on a good day with attentive service, it's the kind of laptop-friendly spot where you'll want to become a regular.”

Nope. The wait staff were not friendly, they didn’t listen to a simple green tea order and brought out black. It felt rushed, even it was not busy. The coffee was ok. The tea was wrong. Positive: Great potato’s. The breakfast sandwich was on a nice brioche bun, the bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked well. The food was good, no 10/10 but fine, but the service was not. Also, it’s 3% charge to pay with card. When I tried to pay with 100 bill and our check was 56$, she asked for a card or something smaller…. She then said they had no change… she came back eventually with 44 -1$ bills….
Fluffy pancakes but the rest of the ingredients were not the best. The sausage tasted like it was full of preservatives and the english muffin like it was store bought.
This breakfast was excellent. I'm surprised they have a 3.9. this is a solid 8/10. Great taste, everything was delicious! Give it a try.
Randomly found this little gem passing by! What a cute little place. Loved the ambiance- very sweet, local, friendly and authentic. Super nice and welcoming personnel, which brings in the homey and sweet vibes and make experience super relaxed and enjoyable. A lot of cool food options you can choose from. Loved the food- "smoked salmon Benedict" is something, and this place have at least 3 options of those!!! With ham or with the fish(salmon), you can definitely find something. Overall everything was delicious and super pretty. Great side of potatoes, could eat them for days! Also, coffees were especially cool. Great cup to start a day. Initially we came in only for those, but everything looked so tasty and smelled so good, that we stayed for a whole meal! Definitely advising this place to everyone!!!!!! It's pretty light and nice atmosphere, and luckily for us had empty spots when we walked in. Prices are affordable and environment is cute. Portions are good for sharing)
Excellent bagel & lox. Red onions perfectly slivered. Service was excellent. Attentive and accommodating, but not intrusive. Even the chef/cook looked in to see if I had everything I needed and offered me more cream cheese. The Irish coffee was delectable, too. Nice window seat looking out on the street. Bright and fun yet peaceful ambiance.
