Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Crema, including the website at cremaapp.com and the Crema iOS app. By using Crema, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

What Crema is

Crema is a discovery platform for independent coffee shops. We curate shop listings, surface ratings and hours sourced from Google, and publish editorial takes on what makes each place worth visiting. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or responsible for any of the shops listed on the platform.

Shop information — including hours, addresses, ratings, and photos — is sourced from Google Places and updated periodically. It may not always be current. Always check directly with a shop before making a special trip.

Your account

You can use most of Crema without an account. Creating an account (via Google sign-in) lets you save shops, log visits, build trip lists, and write reviews.

You are responsible for keeping your account secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Your content

When you write a review on Crema, you retain ownership of it. By submitting a review, you grant Crema a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it in the app and on the website.

Your reviews must be:

• Based on a genuine experience at the shop
• Honest — no fake reviews, no reviews for shops you haven't visited
• Free of hate speech, harassment, or illegal content
• Your own words — no copying reviews from other platforms

We reserve the right to remove reviews that violate these rules or that we determine are spam, fraudulent, or otherwise harmful.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Crema for any unlawful purpose
• Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download shop data without permission
• Attempt to access, disrupt, or damage Crema's systems
• Create fake accounts or submit fake reviews
• Use Crema to compete with us without permission (e.g., bulk-exporting our curated data to build a competing product)

Shop listings and accuracy

We do our best to keep shop information accurate, but coffee shops open, close, change their hours, and move. Crema makes no guarantee that any listed shop is currently open, operating, or as described. Use your judgment, and when in doubt, call ahead.

If you notice a listing that's inaccurate or a shop that has permanently closed, email us at hello@cremaapp.com.

Intellectual property

The Crema name, logo, editorial content (including “Crema's Take” write-ups), and app design are owned by Crema. You may not reproduce or use them without permission.

Shop photos displayed in Crema are sourced from Google Places and are subject to Google's terms. User-submitted content remains the property of its author.

Disclaimers

Crema is provided “as is.” We make no warranties — express or implied — about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the service. We are not responsible for any experience you have at a shop you found through Crema, including quality of coffee, service, or any other outcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Crema and its founders will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which, since Crema is currently free, is zero).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. We'll note the date of the last update at the top of this page. Continued use of Crema after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes will be resolved in a court of competent jurisdiction.
