Crema's Take
“Mostra is a charming neighborhood gem in Hillcrest that excels at creative espresso drinks like their standout Creme Brulee Latte, with baristas who genuinely engage customers and a cozy patio perfect for lingering over quality coffee. Beyond the usual café fare, they've thoughtfully partnered with local breweries to offer craft beers alongside their carefully sourced pour overs and specialty creations, making it a refreshing escape from the typical coffee chain experience.”

We stopped by after the Hillcrest farmers market and we will not be back. I agree with others in the reviews, the service here is abysmal and not very friendly. We wanted our drinks with light ice and I got a match that was only 60% full. While we were made aware that by getting light ice there would be "room in the cup", I don't think customers should be punished when they are paying $9 for a single drink and don't want it to be watered down by a half cup of ice. I do NOT recommend. It's overpriced, not friendly, and not service centered. There are way better places in SD!
Really great drip coffee and friendly staff! We love that they collaborate with local breweries and have those beers on tap and in bottles. We ended up trying the Imperial Dessert Stout and enjoyed it. The barista gave us a helpful description of the beer and it lived up to the hype!
I decided to check out Mostra this weekend, and I have to say the coffee was quite good-went with a chagaccino and really enjoyed the taste and quality. However, I wanted to share a little about the service experience. The person taking my order seemed a bit bothered and had a dry demeanor, which was a bit surprising. They even got my name wrong on the order, which caused a bit of confusion when I picked up my coffee. I think a friendly hello or a good morning would have made a big difference. Just a small gesture can make the experience much warmer!
Loved the Creme Brulee Latte!!! This place is super cute and the coffee is delicious. The baristas were very friendly and we were able to watch them make our drinks! They have a comfy patio area with a bar and a few tables.
This coffee shop is a hidden gem in the area, offering a refreshing alternative to the usual chain coffee experience. After growing tired of having Starbucks all the time, I decided to explore a new spot, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. The staff here is exceptionally friendly and helpful, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. The café itself has a unique blend of modern and antique aesthetics, creating a cozy yet stylish vibe that makes it a great place to relax, work, or catch up with friends. Every cup I tried was presented with intricate latte art, adding a touch of creativity that made each visit special. Beyond just the presentation, the coffee itself was rich, flavorful, and expertly brewed, offering a depth of taste that surpassed my expectations. Overall, this is an excellent spot for coffee lovers looking for quality brews, a charming ambiance, and friendly service. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick caffeine fix or planning to sit down and savor your drink, this café is definitely worth visiting.
