Central Cafe
3920 Central Ave #1, Cheyenne, WY
Crema's Take
“Central Cafe strikes that sweet spot between a quick caffeine stop and a lingering destination, with an espresso program and pour overs that satisfy coffee enthusiasts while their outdoor seating and drive-thru keep road trippers and locals equally happy. The weekday vibe earns serious praise for friendly staff and cool atmosphere, though you'll want to stick with their coffee and pastries rather than banking on the food being consistently fresh. It's the kind of unpretentious neighborhood spot where you can grab a quality shot or sit for an hour, and the parking and family-friendly setup make it a natural gathering place for Cheyenne.”

I would rate this 10/10 if I had only visited on a weekday. Cool atmosphere, very good food, exceptionally friendly staff, and easy access. Nothing bad to say. However, the weekends have been a different experience. On a Saturday or Sunday all the positive things I mentioned hold true except for the service. The young people who staff this place on the weekends are indifferent at best and often quite rude. Fix that with a little better supervision and customer service training and this will be a Cheyenne gem.
I'm just in town for the day. Had baked potato soup. Really good!!! And coffee too. Thanks!!
Just stop serving food, before someone gets food poisoning. I'm sitting here now with a mostly untouched Siracha Turkey Bacon sandwich in front of me. Nothing is fresh. The bacon is the pre-cooked, microwaveable variety (and isn't microwaved). No tomato. The turkey is discolored and looks like it came out of Hillshire Farm's package yesterday. Mostly wilted lettuce, with a piece of rotting lettuce stuck in the bread when it came to me. For $10. Compare to 5-Guys (different format, obviously), who can do a hamburger, cooked to order, with unlimited fresh toppings for $9.19. That's where me and my latte are going after I write this. The owner and management should really be ashamed and probably need a lesson in food safety. That's not at all a joke. The staff should've caught it but, hey, if this is how things are, I don't blame them for not quitting, the job market is in the toilet for undergrads. Please don't fire them for any of this. The latte was good and came out fast. I got a homemade frosted sugar cookie that was really quite good. The staff was otherwise pleasant and were cleaning the whole time I was there. It's all a real shame, too, because the building and decorating are very nice. Ironically, the dining room was very clean. I'd like to sit here a few hours on the weekends, work, and pay rent on the table. Alas. I didn't see the kitchen and don't want to. Take down the tacky notice not to bring in outside food (which would be the much safer option, anyways) and it's perfect. And change your Wi-Fi network name from the default, for crying out loud. P.S. - you could replace your entire lunch and breakfast menu with rotating food trucks and be far, far ahead of the game. Food for thought (zing!). P.P.S. - I'm at 5-Guys. My entire meal (BACON cheeseburger with 5 fresh toppings, small fry, fountain drink) came out to be about a dollar cheaper than my latte, sugar cookie, and turkey sandwich at Central Cafe. I could do to McDonald's, get a cup of coffee with the dollar I saved, and have a far, far better experience and be able to work tomorrow.
Just by looking at this avocado toast you should see why I have put 3 stars. It’s a white toast bread with thin spread of avocado and bagel seasoning on top that’s it ( it tasted like guacamole) . Seriously, I wonder for what I paid $9! I also got veggie burrito, it suppose to have omelette inside, which I didn’t taste it. My matcha looked unappealing, and tasted worse than ok. My husband’s latte was good though . Atmosphere was super cute and had industrial kick to it.
Stopped in here for a coffee break while on a road trip. Easy to find location. Good drink and food options. The cafe is cute and has a nice outdoor seating area.
