Harvest House

Crema's Take
“Harvest House is a beloved Denton gathering spot where the welcoming atmosphere and thoughtfully curated drink specials (like their Wednesday beer discounts) keep regulars coming back two or three times a month. The indoor space feels spacious and cool while the heated outdoor patio with food truck partnerships creates the perfect setup for everything from coworker decompression to date nights, all backed up by genuinely friendly service that makes you feel at home.”

As someone who has visited before and truly enjoyed the atmosphere and happy hour, I was excited to invite my coworkers from a local hospital to unwind after a long week. We were especially grateful for what we believed was a family-friendly outdoor space where we could enjoy the beautiful weather. At 8:00 pm, three adults from our party and one 4-year-old approached the bar to order one final round of drinks. At 8:06 pm, a staff member informed us that the establishment becomes 21+ after 8 pm. I responded politely that we would finish our drinks and head out. However, about five minutes later, Dan approached our table and was incredibly rude, telling us we needed to “hurry up and leave.” It was confusing and frustrating, considering the bartenders had just served us drinks knowing there was a child present. There was no event, no live music, and no crowd Being rushed out over a strict 8 pm rule — after being served — felt unnecessary and poorly handled. When asking the bartenders for the name of the manager on duty and for the name of the gentleman who approached us, they refused to answer. For context, the children in our group were not disruptive. One was quietly playing with rocks, one was watching Netflix, and one was asleep. There was no chaos, no complaints — just a small group of adults trying to enjoy a peaceful evening. Unfortunately, this experience did not feel family-friendly or hospitable. There are other similar establishments nearby that allow children until 9 pm and manage those transitions without being rude to their guests. Very disappointing.
My three friends and I visited Harvest House to try Soup Flight Night, and while the food experience itself started off promising, our interaction at the bar really dampened the evening. When we went up to order drinks, the bar wasn’t busy, there were customers seated and chatting, but no one actively ordering. As we looked over the drink menu, the bartender seemed visibly irritated that we were taking a moment to decide. One of my friends ordered first, and while her drink was being made, another friend realized he wanted the same drink. At that point, the bartender reacted with clear frustration and attitude, including a noticeable facial expression and a sharp tone. He then told his female coworker to continue our order in a way that made us feel like we were a bother rather than guests. (I should have gotten his name, what a shame.) However, the overall interaction left us uncomfortable enough that we chose not to tip due to the unwelcoming attitude we received. Afterward, I looked through other reviews and noticed several similar comments mentioning unfriendly or rude bartenders, especially toward new patrons. Unfortunately, that matched our experience. We wanted to enjoy our first visit and Soup Flight Night, but the bar service made it hard to fully do so. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for future guests.
friendly staff, great atmosphere! the drink specials are an amazing value & the food truck in the parking lot is delicious! a wonderful venue for a celebration, date night, or a drink & snack while you study or work remotely. they have non-alcoholic options & are child- & pet-friendly until 7pm.
We usually hit this location two or three times a month. We really enjoy the atmosphere and amazing service! The outdoor seating is great. The heaters help when it’s cold. And they often have fun games, music and creative events that we are always on the look for.
We stopped by on a Monday to check it out and loved it. Nice patio and wide selection of beers. Indoor section was nice, cool, and roomy. They have $2 off beers on Wednesday! We will be back!
