Mast Coffee
1430 28th St, Sacramento, CA
Crema's Take
“Mast Coffee is a sprawling, work-friendly Sacramento spot that roasts its own beans on-site, delivering impressively smooth espresso drinks and thoughtfully crafted beverages like their standout cáscara soda and matcha latte. The massive space strikes that rare balance of feeling both spacious and genuinely welcoming, with plenty of seating, plugs, and good bones that make it equally suited for a solo work session or lingering with friends over a cortado. If you're after a coffee that speaks for itself rather than hides behind flavored syrups, the house roasts here deliver—though fair warning, pastry selection can sell out early even on quieter Saturday mornings.”

Came here for the first time after multiple recommendations from friends and am glad I finally did. This coffee shop has tons of seating inside, and would be perfect for a drink when you want to read or hangout with friends. The inside is filled with natural bright lighting, the baristas were super nice, and the drinks were delicious. It also looked like there was seating outside and people were hanging out there, great for days when the weather is nice. I got the maple and cinnamon latte and my friend got the pumpkin chai. Both were so good and I recommend both, but the pumpkin chai was my fave. It was sweet but not overly sugary and the flavor was perfect. The latte was good even after the ice melted and didn’t taste watered down. They also sell bagels from Forgotten bakery and other pastries but didn’t try those. Will definitely be back!
Nice spot. Went on a Saturday around 11:40 am. Already completely out of pastries. It’s a massive space and surprisingly was pretty empty. Seemed like 4 to 5 workers not on shift were just hanging out. Had a burrito. It’s premade and they heat / toast it. It was decent but overpriced for something thag premade. Drinks were good.
Good space. Tons of tables and plugs for working. Super comfy space. Clean bathroom. Music by someone who is clearly my same age (41). Cáscara soda is fantastic and so is the cortado. Good bagel if you get the munchies. Yay! It has to be said: 100x better than the other location.
Absolutely large space inside cafe. You can see they actually roast their own at this location. Fresh roasted coffee is always best! Matcha latte was also good. Coffee was very smooth and easy to drink. Mocha was also good. They look like using really good cacao for mocha.
I got the maple and cinnamon latte and it’s ok - I kind of want a stronger espresso taste. Like the type of coffee that makes you salivate or makes the sides of your mouth react if that makes sense lol I also got their Everything Bagel (from Forgotten Bakery) with cream cheese and it’s good. I really appreciate that they toasted it, without even asking, because a lot of cafes don’t warm up your food (even if you asked them to). Staff was incredibly nice too! Ambience was nice - high ceilings and incredibly spacious. A lot of people hanging out and working/doing stuff with their laptops. They also have outdoor seating if you’re into that. I’ll defo go back to try their other seasonal drinks.
