Cafe Kubal
324 W Water St, Syracuse, NY
Crema's Take
“Cafe Kubal is an espresso-focused destination where serious coffee lovers debate whether the precision pour-overs and cold brews justify the premium pricing, though the softest bagels and richly decadent hot chocolate suggest the craft extends beyond just the cup. The vibe skews laptop-friendly and leisurely—plenty of outlets and cozy corners for lingering—though service can be hit or miss depending on who's behind the counter that day. If you're willing to invest in quality and don't mind the higher price tag, this is the kind of place worth claiming as your favorite.”

Most expensive coffee in the area. Quality is similar if not slightly less than competitive coffee vendors. A small flavored latte will cost you $7.80. Again, quality is not terrible but just head down the street to Salt City and order coffee there. Salt City has better quality coffee/syrups and the price is much more reasonable.
I have tried to give this location multiple tries. The staff (specifically the men working) are always extremely rude and when you order anything other then a simple coffee they act like you’ve shot their pet. I am dairy free and need oat milk in my drinks (which I order) and have had whole milk been put in my coffee multiple times, even after reiterating that I need oat milk. On top of all of this, the food is extremely overpriced for subpar results. We ordered the chips and pico with our meal and the chips were flat out stale with the pico coming in the smallest container possible. The “buff chix” wrap is not at all what is advertised, barely any buffalo sauce either chunks of chicken that seem to have come out of a can. I don’t know why I keep coming back here. Either it’s the product or that the staff simply do not care. It needs to be better for the price. Will not be coming back.
I only had a small hot chocolate but it was absolutely the best hot chocolate. It kinda tastes like dark chocolate but A LOT better than Speedway for sure and Dunkin' Donuts.
This is my absolute favorite coffee shop! The brews, cold & hot, are so fresh and delicious. They have the softest chewy bagels and their pastries did not miss. Wish I had a Kubal closer to home! The baristas here are great & very hospitable!
Great coffee spot. I ordered a brewed coffee with mocha. They have medium and dark roast options available. This coffee spot is Perfect for a good study session. Multiple outlets and couches perfect place to meet a friend for a quick bite. Food was delicious. I had a breakfast sandwich with the daily bread. They were fast and friendly. Location was clean as well as the bathroom. WiFi available as well. Parking situation is tough because of its location. Parking is free before 9am and after 6. The local Meters at $2 an hour with a 2 hour limit.
