I am going to think about the Morning Glory sandwich forever hahaha. It was SO GOOD. I added avocado for $2. I also got a cinnamon bun (incredible. Split with 3 friends) and a watermelon mimosa (very good, ask for light watermelon if you want it less sweet). It was easy to find our own seating for four people when we came on a Saturday at 1pm. Great menu- I wanted to try everything!
Great spot in Del Mar. Nice selection, vibrant food, fresh and well presented. Great service and nicely located below the plaza which makes parking super easy. Been a fan of the cottage (la Jolla) since 1995 but do like this one a lot!
My coworkers and I went here a few weeks ago for a brunch on a Friday morning. This is my first time at this location and I was very eager to try everything! You can park inside of the shopping center parking structure or if you're lucky find Street parking. We decided to order a large cinnamon roll to share ordered a variety of different coffee drinks with my co-workers looking as beautiful as a martini! I couldn't decide between their variety of egg Benedict variations, and the waiter shared that I can order one of each! I ordered the pork belly and crab & prosciutto benedict, both were amazing and very different! Serving sizes are also very generous I cannot eat everything. Overall really love the my meal and definitely would go back!
I grew up in La Jolla and always remembered my mother and her friends going to The Cottage for brunch and many times I went with her. It was great back then and it is still good now. I have been to many different restaurants in this location here in Del Mar and I would say this is one of my favorite ones that has been here. The Cottage is a solid breakfast or brunch option and it is usually pretty consistent and quick. Parking is plentiful in the parking garage attached, the first two hours are free. We were able to be seated for a party of three right when we arrived and our server was very polite. Inside is quite small, there aren’t any very large tables however, it has a very cozy and homely feel to it. Service is also very fast so the tables will turn quickly. They have indoor seating and also outdoor seating which can be really nice depending on the weather. For my breakfast I chose the Chilaquiles and added chorizo. Unfortunately, it was soy chorizo, I wish they would have the real thing, but it was still really good. I also got a Cinnamon Roll and thought it was just OK. It was not gooey enough for my personal taste, but some may like it. Overall, I really enjoyed the breakfast and will stop in again in the near future.
We liked our experience there, but it wasn’t a 5-star experience! The food was okay not special, the drinks were good, and the service was okay. The space is cozy and clean, very close to our favorite beach in Del Mar. There wasn’t any outdoor seating available when we arrived but the indoor seating seemed to be more comfortable.
