Crema's Take
“Café Madeleine brings a charming slice of Paris to the corner of El Cajon Boulevard, where you can linger over expertly pulled espresso drinks and buttery croissants while watching San Diego life drift by from their coveted outdoor seats. The staff's genuine warmth pairs perfectly with their skill—reviewers rave about velvety cappuccinos and rich lattes that taste like they actually care about the craft, making it equally ideal for a solo coffee meditation or gathering a group of friends for an unhurried brunch.”

This is a coffee house so I expected the coffee to be good… The coffee was great. The staff was also very engaging and adorable. It sat on the corner of busy El Cajon Blvd. so it’s fun to people watch if you sit outside. The pastries are fantastic and they offer a decent variety. Plus they have beer and wine so you can spoil yourself with any day of the week mimosas. I haven’t tried the sandwiches, but they do offer a lunch selection as well. Very convenient and accessible parking around the building. I will definitely return for another cup of Joe.
I enjoyed the food and the view, very beautiful place, friendly staff! Definitely coming back! cappuccino decaf also was incredible!
We stopped here because we were in the area and I don’t think I’ve ever tried a “French Restaurant”. The atmosphere is very nice, very France inspired of course. The outdoor seating was limited but decent. Pretty much tucked to the side of the building on the sidewalk and in front, but dog friendly. My Nutella crepe was great but I should have gotten bananas in it. Now that I’m writing this I’m really beating myself up over those bananas. My wife got a Tomato Mozzarella Panini and LOVED it. She just kept talking about this stupid panini the entire trip… I couldn’t even go an hour without her bringing it up. Anyway, the service was excellent and I will definitely be coming back here. If I didn’t my wife would kill me.
Café Madeleine is my go-to for a delicious and satisfying breakfast! I ordered a huge latte, and it was smooth, rich, and perfectly made—exactly what I needed to start my day. The croissant breakfast sandwich was just as amazing—flaky, buttery, and stuffed with fresh ingredients. Every bite was perfection! The cozy Parisian vibe, friendly service, and relaxed atmosphere make this spot a true gem in South Park. It does not matter if you're stopping by for a quick bite or lingering over coffee, this café never disappoints. Highly recommend!
The ambience of the restaurant is so cute and cozy. We came in as a group of 5 and we were able to find seating outside. It’s a relaxing place to come out and have some late brunch with friends, family and your furry babies! The food was great. The Nutella crepes were very sweet! If you have a sweet tooth this is definitely the best plate for you. The ham and cheese croissant was just enough to fill my tummy. The smoked salmon plate was great with the Greek yogurt. Service was good. We were helped right away and the servers were very sweet. The negative star was for the French Spritzer since it wasn’t the best.
