Crema's Take
“Artessence is a neighborhood gem where the owner's genuine warmth matches the quality of their meticulously crafted pour overs and luxurious layered drinks like their signature lavender matcha. Beyond the espresso, they've mastered the art of approachable indulgence—gourmet breakfast tacos and pastries at gentle prices in a space that feels both upscale and genuinely inviting, perfect for lingering conversations or solo contemplation.”

This is a rare gem. Warm, inviting, inclusive. They really made something special. The food is surprisingly gourmet but priced gently to the wallet. Try the lavender matcha. It’s layered and luxurious. It tasted like a half-fuzzy happy memory and time began to stop mattering. The feeling of this place is like a stray cat jumping in through your window and curling up in your lap and purring and chortling. You can't ever seek such moments and you can't ever replicate them. They simply happen naturally, like rainbows or wet dreams- you don't get a say. However, the new owners have curated a seemingly ephemeral warm, golden aura but crafted it so that it is easily re-accessible. The art is zesty and poetic. The atmosphere is the kind that you are glad exists and you kick yourself for having too much time go by without popping your head in. You can be your best self there, as flavorful and fun as you know yourself to be. Artessence just brings it out of you, and then sends you on your way with a full tummy and a better take on life. Try the tacos. You’re worth it.
Chatted with the owner over one of the best pour overs I’ve had in a long time. So worth it! Service was top notch, coffee fresh and as it should be. Tried my first Mexican sweet bread which was also excellent. This is the spot for coffee on Jax.
Stopped by Artessence Coffee Shop and had the best morning. I ordered the breakfast tacos — great price, good portion, and just really satisfying. I also got an iced matcha and they suggested adding lavender… so good. Such a simple upgrade but it made it extra special. The vibe in there is just as good. There was a little crochet circle of ladies chatting away, and strangers casually striking up conversations over coffee. It just feels welcoming and easy. Definitely one of those spots you want to hang out in for a while.
This restaurant is owned by members of the Springfield community and bring the charm of the neighborhood to their restaurant. The cordial nature of the owners with the subtle upscale nature of the venue, with the charm of the puzzles available for customers, this cafe is a relaxing opportunity for passerbys. The coffee is well curated and masterfully crafted, and the food menu while limited right now excels in quality. A worthy entry to the growing Springfield community.
Stopped in for the first time as we are new to town. Not a soul in the place on a Sunday morning at 10am. Drinks weren’t hot enough and matcha was horrible. Cute environment but you could do so much more. You have wall space put up local art and do art shows; it’s in your name, you would think there would be art. Over all not bad but needs some tweaking. Also, no food at all, she said they sold out the day before, honestly wouldn’t want dat old anyways. Food options are a must. Otherwise seemly nice people, but not a lot of interaction for the place being empty.
