Crema's Take

Ray's Café & Teahouse is a neighborhood gem where exceptional hand-crafted coffee meets an unexpectedly wonderful Chinese food program, creating a truly unique blend that keeps customers thinking about it long after they leave. The fragrant, high-end espresso drinks are clearly made with real care and precision, earning a devoted following who describe the experience as almost ruinously good—one regular admitted the coffee here has spoiled them for everywhere else. It's an intimate, cozy spot perfect for lingering over your cup, though the quality craftsmanship does come at a premium price that most visitors feel is absolutely worth it.

I still think about this place even though it’s been over a year since I’ve eaten here. I can say it ruined coffee for me 😂 I’ve never had a more fragrant coffee than at this location and wished I lived closer to this cafe. The owner and her son specialize in different items here. The son specializes in coffee and the owner in dumplings & niu rou mian! I had the dumplings and they had the home made Taiwanese taste to them. I loved it. This is one of my Philly recommended locations to everyone.

Very great drinks and I'm sure the food would be as well but we were just there for coffee/ tea. Highly recommend, very cozy and nice. Definitely on the pricey side though but worth it and the staff was very pleasant.

This is a really wonderful and unique eatery. Lovely high-end hand crafted coffee drinks, with tasty Chinese food makes for a wonderful and surprising blend. It is a snug place and comfortable atmosphere with only a few tables. Service was great, but a tad slow and I think they are adjusting to the aftermath of some food influencers giving them glowing reviews. Get there early - and enjoy! I know that we will be back. The dumpling sampler was exquisite - give me about 3 of them along with a cup of their best coffee - and I am a happy man...

✨a neighborhood hidden gem ☕️ If you’re a coffee connoisseurs or just a cafe hopper (like me) I would say this is a must try spot! Excited to visit time and time again. Although I am not experienced enough as a coffee fiend to really appreciate the depth, I loved the passion put into each cup of coffee. We ordered the house blend (medium) and philly blend (dark). Each drink is pricy but the experience and effort to make it felt worth it. And we got cute matching cups and a little snack to go with! What we got: ⭐️ Ray’s House Blend decaf, medium roast ($13) - Ray’s Philly Blend, dark roast ($13) Cannot wait to come back to this quirky cafe along a quieter street of Chinatown.

Came here after a solid recommendation, and it definitely lived up to the hype! Food: The food was surprisingly delicious, made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. They seem to be especially proud of their dumplings — and rightfully so. The Dumpling Sampler is a must if you want to try all the different flavors (highly recommend). And for context, we’re from NYC — not exactly short on great Chinese food — and this place still impressed us. Coffee: If you’re into coffee, this place is for you. The owner clearly takes it seriously — we ordered their most delicate (and pricey) brew. Couldn’t personally tell a huge difference taste-wise, but we loved his passion for the craft. Coffee connoisseurs: you’ve met your match. Atmosphere: What a charming little spot with a mix of cozy and quirky vibes. Would definitely come back the next time we’re in town!
