Crema's Take
“Picazo Cafe is a beloved Petaluma breakfast and brunch destination where buttery croissants meet perfectly cooked bacon in sandwiches that locals can't stop raving about, and where the staff remembers to ask where you're from. Beyond the Instagram-worthy pastries and omelets, it's the kind of warm, family-friendly spot where you can linger over fresh-squeezed juice and good conversation, whether you're a local grabbing a quick bite or passing through wine country.”

Bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a croissant… need I say more? Absolute perfection. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the bacon cooked just right, and everything came together in that simple, classic way that just hits. It was so good we came back and ate here two days in a row while visiting Sonoma. If you are anywhere nearby and want a breakfast that does not miss, this is your spot. Highly recommend.
Wife and I stopped in for breakfast on our last day in town. Service was prompt, and portions were good for the price. I had an open-faced chorizo omelet and wife had ham and eggs. Both were delicious. Wife enjoyed her coffee. Staff was helpful and personable. Would definitely stop in again.
I went to Kenwood to pick up my wine membership and happen to drive by Picazo Cafe, my husband said they have the best burger. I quickly made a right to turn around and headed back. This is a nice and cozy cafe. You are greeted with a smile, you order, you get a number and pick your seat. My husband had one of the burgers with medium spice sauce and I had a torta with skirt steak. My husband had an Arnold palmer and I had wine. the wine is a healthy portion and the Arnold palmer was in a big to go cup. We were very satisfied with our drinks. My husband’s burger was delicious with onion rings. The medium sauce was very spicy. Thank god he ordered medium. My torta with skirt steak was nice. It looked as though they tried to elevate it but the skirt steak was not very flavorful. The fries were delightful. In the back, which I looked through the open door but did not experience, looked very nice. There was a large connect 4 game. I really like the establishment, very friendly and I recommend it.
All the staff were so friendly, asking specific questions about our stay in the area and where we are from. They have a mix of light and refreshing options like the acai bowl or fresh squeezed OJ, hearty Mexican options like chorizo breakfast burrito, sweet breakfast items like the flan soaked/deep fried brioche French toast, and the best coffee (I got a mocha made with Mexican chocolate) I had my entire time in Sonoma! Every single bite and sip I had was delicious! The only place I would say is a must stop in Sonoma!
I’ll get to why I’m only giving three stars in a moment. This place is adorable. It’s in a great location, the decor is cute, and the seating areas are appealing and inviting. The air conditioner near the cash register drips rusty water on you as you stand or walk under it though, hopefully they’ll correct this. The reason I’m only giving three stars is because I specifically was excited to eat here because so many of the reviews rave about the burgers. What a disappointment my burger was!! It was smashed so thin I couldn’t even taste the meat. All of the rest of the food we got was good, but the burger was so disappointing that it tarnished the whole experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
