Nomad Coffee

3 Maple St, Essex, VT

Crema's Take

Tucked into a minimalist corner spot in Essex, this espresso-focused gem prioritizes quality over quantity, crafting smooth, subtly nuanced coffees that let their craft shine—think maple lattes balanced to perfection and light nutty sweetness that lingers. The knowledgeable staff genuinely cares about matching you to your ideal drink, and while the food selection is modest, what they do offer (like their standout chocolate croissants) is made with real care. It's the kind of place where you'll linger over a carefully pulled shot or grab a quick, reliable caffeine fix, depending on your mood.

My favorite coffee place ☕️ probably additional food selection would make this place much more enjoyable 💌

Tucked away on the back corner, Nomad Coffee is a swank establishment with minimalistic styling. You aren't getting a large selection of coffees, teas, and pastries BUT what you do get is taste. Nomad serves Ethiopian coffees in the traditional European style...not like the sudo European styles at Starbucks. We enjoyed a dry cappuccino and a Maple latte along side our chocolate croissant and cream cheese Danish. Oh and the Danish was so light and Fluffy. #NomNomNom Great stop! @MeetMrOwl #BirdLife #OwlsTweet #worldtraveler

The chocolate croissant was pretty good, the presentation of the croissant looks fantastic. I would have liked more chocolate in the croissant. I've had coffee here before and it's definitely some of the best tasting coffee I've had around. They currently have a rose cardamom latte I'd love to try at some point.

If you are looking for a quick coffee stop you can’t go wrong with any of the options on Nomad’s menu! The coffee is so smooth and subtle in flavor with light nutty sweet notes and their maple lattes are a must! The tiny shop makes up for its size with big flavor! If you are local and haven’t been- it’s a must! Near plenty of shops and restaurants at five corners you have plenty of space to explore and sip to your heart’s content!

Courteous knowledgeable and friendly staff helped me decide on the perfect drink! Their maple late is smooth, balanced and flavored perfectly, 8 oz. of pure heaven! This might be the best late I’ve had to date. I had to try the blueberry lemon scone as it was calling my name from Nomad’s adorable display window! It was light yet rich with butter, but not too sweet. The lemon was great with the blueberries! My scone was half gone by the time I walked home. Awesome quaint little spot with nice seating as well! I will absolutely be back!
