Crema's Take

Counter Culture's Emeryville location is a beautifully minimalist coffee education hub that opens to the public weekly on Friday mornings at 10 am for free cuppings led by their genuinely knowledgeable team. Rather than a traditional café, it's a space designed for serious coffee exploration where you'll taste-test single-origin lots like their India blends while learning the real stories behind each coffee. It's the perfect spot if you're eager to deepen your coffee knowledge and connect with other curious coffee lovers in the area.

What to expect

Espresso-focused, with a pour-over program. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings.

Great coffee and a great experience to learn about coffee and meet people in the area! Note, it isn't a cafe but I highly recommend people stop in at 10 am on Fridays for their free tasting!

What a hidden gem! Amazing coffee, values, and team. Their (free) weekly Friday coffee tastings are my new favorite local activity. Thanks for the treat and coffee facts!

Not always open to public! Seminars like the weekly Tastings at Ten are open invite and visible on the Counter Culture site. Beautiful, minimalist space with super knowledgeable and friendly staff. Great coffee and great insights to be found here.
