Crema's Take

This industrial-chic Indianapolis gem has mastered both the craft and the community spirit, earning devoted fans for their precisely pulled espresso drinks and thoughtfully sourced pastries that arrive fresh and buttery each morning. The baristas genuinely shine here—regulars rave about personalized drink suggestions and the infectious warmth of team members like Tillie—making it as much about the human connection as the coffee itself. Beyond the excellent pour-overs and creative matcha lattes, Cafe Oztara stands out for its deep roots in the local LGBT+ community through its partnership with the Damien Center, creating a space where specialty coffee culture and meaningful social connection brew together.

cafe oztara is one of THE BEST coffee spots in all of indy - and their contributions to the community make it so much better. every barista is a total delight, especially Tillie, who is one of the only baristas on earth who understands how i like my lattes. i’ve never had a bad drink here! the nashville hot chicken biscuit is also super yummy.

If an old time building and industrial chic-style had a baby. Drip coffee had lots of flavor but temperature was lukewarm. Americano coffee on the other hand was delicious Monin sugar free caramel. Very rainbow. Did not try any of the food options.

Came here on their grand opening, and I love it! I got an iced matcha latte with ube syrup which tasted really good. Its an extremely LGBT+ friendly place, as it’s linked with the Damien Center. It’s a wide open space with lots of natural light coming in which looks really pretty. The baristas are really friendly as well. Definitely a good space to meet up with friends, get work done, or study. (They also don’t up charge for oat milk!)
