I’ve neverrrr had a bad drink at Black Honey, & their matchas are BY FAR the best quality of any coffee shop in The Rio Grande Valley. You can tell they care about quality over everything. The danishes are to die for, I LOVEEEE 😭😭😭💕💕💕 Just had an apple pie chai with a cranberry danish and my life is complete.

If you’re looking for a cozy, locally owned spot that actually delivers on flavor, this coffee shop is it. Their seasonal cranberry danish is unbelievable—flaky, buttery, and perfectly balanced with a bright cranberry filling that tastes homemade. Pair it with their orange espresso and you’ve got the perfect winter pick-me-up. The citrus notes in the espresso are refreshing without being overpowering, making it one of the most unique and delicious drinks I’ve tried in a long time. The staff is warm, the space feels inviting, and everything tastes crafted with care. Easily one of my new favorite local gems.

I had this on my local coffee shops to try list for over a year and I finally went and I was super underwhelmed to say the least. With all the instagram hype and positive reviews I was so excited to try this locally owned coffee shop which I surely would love, but that wasn’t really the case. Maybe I will give it another shot but I don’t live super close to it, so am unsure if I will or not. I wanted something festive snd holiday flavored but their fall menu had just been discontinued for the year so I just got the cajeta iced latte and it was literally milk with a hint of water down espresso. I asked for them to put the cajeta on the sides and that made it somewhat better. The 16 ounces was filled half ways with ice so you’re getting way less than 16 ounces. It was $7.58 for a 16 ounce watered down ice “latte.” That’s quite expensive for the actual amount and quality that u get.

Excellent experience. Nothing but good things to say about this place. My wife got a matcha drink that was excellent. Not just a plastic or styrofoam cup, but a glass cup since we were dining in. Ambiance was great. I personally got some mocha drink that had great taste. 8/10 on taste. Would definitely recommend this place and WILL be going back.

Absolutely in love with this coffee shop. The design and color concepts are pleasing to the eye. Their menu is very unique and they have flavors I have never seen before. The aesthetic is both modern and cozy and the young adults that run it are very friendly and welcoming. I tried a taro latte and it was very delicious. They even gave us 2 little biscuits to eat with it which I think was super nice. Their merch are trendy and definitely something I'd wear. The bucket hats were so cute. Wonderfully peaceful place to study with seating and outlets. The natural light and gorgeous plants everywhere were just the perfect style for their cafe. I will definitely be back and cannot wait to try their other flavors. I highly recommend Black Honey to all local coffee lovers as well as visitors. You will not be disappointed! PS. Drive-thru option available as well!
