The short: Curious Coffee is my favorite place in Southeast Michigan to get coffee, and honestly, it has the best coffee I've ever tried in my life. Curious Coffee is totally worth braving downtown Ann Arbor and dealing with parking. The staff, and owner, are incredibly friendly and personable, always ready with great recommendations. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend going. I’ve never had black coffee taste as fantastic as it does at Curious Coffee—let alone their honey latte, which is incredible. Cost: Honestly, it’s cheaper than most coffee shops in Ann Arbor. (They do have luxury coffee that is $22+ if you are brave and Curious, most of their drinks are $7-8). Taste: Incredible—the best coffee in Ann Arbor, and in my life. The bad: Curious Coffee may have ruined breakroom coffee for me; now I know what good coffee tastes like. The long: Curious Coffee really lives up to its name. I’ve gone several times, and each time I leave feeling more curious about coffee, having learned something new. Perhaps I’m uncultured and have been drinking coffee wrong for the last 16 years, but before visiting Curious Coffee, I had never heard of a Geisha coffee blend, or had black coffee that tasted good. Truthfully, I didn’t know much about coffee blends beyond basic roasting styles. But at Curious Coffee, I’ve learned about different types of coffee plants, the effects of various roasting techniques, and even had black coffee that tasted and smelled like strawberries. The owner and staff take the time to talk about their coffee and, once they learned that I occasionally drink Folgers (no shade to Folgers, I'm a university student and it gets the job done), they patiently explained the many ways coffee can be roasted and brewed (and better). They even offered me small samples, which I really appreciated. I’ve visited Curious several times now, and often suggest it as a hangout or study spot to friends. It’s a place where you can both enjoy exceptional coffee and learn a lot in the process.

Got curious as a coffee snob and decided to check this relatively-new kid on the block. Curious Coffee offers some of the highest quality coffee beans in Ann Arbor and probably in Michigan. The baristas are friendly and visibly highly passionate in coffee. Tried the Yessica & Diego Parra - thermal shock sidra pourover and it was almost perfectly brewed to bring out the best of the beans. The brownie was surprisingly delicious and paired well with coffee. The ambience was lively and welcoming, and I personally find it to be more of a cafe to bring along your friends, chat, and maybe impress them with good coffee. Prices for the beans are steep, especially if you compare the prices of the beans to other top roasters in USA, around the world and even the green beans themselves. However, if you see going to Curious Coffee to be more of an experience, the price might be worthwhile for some. It offers some lesson/cupping sessions which I am now more curious about.

Such a good cup of coffee and great experience. The baristas happily answered all of our questions and provided a really great experience. This shop focuses on quality and pots care into each drink. Definitely one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had.

The coffee is unique and delicious, the service is fantastic, and the space is beautiful and spacious! Highly recommend if you need a morning/afternoon pick-me-up, or if you’re looking for a comfortable space to read or work. I’m a decaf drinker so I got their low caffeine iced americano and it was SO smooth!

Tried a new place after seeing the sign on a walk and I was rewarded with a great surprise! What a true hidden gem! ✨The baristas were very nice and explained the menu well. I am a pretty basic coffee/vanilla latte girlie and I got the iced honey latte and I give it a 9.5/10 delish! Highly recommend giving this place a try. Also the atmosphere inside is a very cute vibe, the day I went was nice so they had like the wall/window open. Also appears to be dog friendly because there was a lil doggie in there. Skip the chains try curious! Can’t wait to try more drinks here!
