Crema's Take

Tucked into Dana Point, this charming French bakery delivers the real deal—made-fresh pastries, eclairs that locals rave about as the best they've found anywhere, and thoughtfully composed breakfast dishes like mushroom asparagus quiches that arrive with surprising abundance. The space invites you to linger over excellent coffee and impeccable ingredients, where the quiet joy of a slow morning with quality food creates the kind of experience people genuinely look forward to repeating. It's the rare breakfast spot that treats both the pastry case and the espresso machine with equal devotion.

Everything was 10/10. Got the mushroom asparagus quiche (probably the best I’ve ever had) and didn’t even know it came with fresh bread & salad which were phenomenal as well! Latte was also perfection.

Based on their average google rating I have to believe I got them on an off day. But man, this was a disappointment. Saturday morning, prime time, the pastries did not taste fresh. Not flaky, not soft or crispy, just kinda sad, like they just came out of the fridge. They were pretty but did not live up to it. The person helping me didn't seem to know anything about the pastries or the menu. Two pastries and a small latte was $18, and was absolutely not worth it. I usually go to Chaupain, and I will be going back there next time.

We absolutely recommend this place. The bakery items were really good, and they warm them up for us. The coffee was really good too. The quiche was amazing and creamy, we didn’t even know it came with a salad. The menu has a variety of things to choose from. The employee and the owner are super nice. They were very welcoming and helpful. They mentioned that they assist to multiple farmers markets in SoCal. The place has a beautiful aesthetic, organization, and the background music really gives your experience here a final touch.
