while I have spoken highly of gateway for many years. Place is becoming pretty lame and way too expensive. Cold soba noodles… Used to be $6.00 Then $8.99 Now they’re $12.00 It’s just noodles and sesame seeds. Did the tarrifs really make the cost of noodle that high? It’s like a 3000% up charge on just noodles. Seems like a lame scam. Be better.

My partner and I stopped here for dinner last night. We ordered fish and chips, a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and two desserts. While waiting for our meal, we were treated to the sounds of their kitchen staff talking trash about a customer....that was still standing in the cafe and well within ear shot. If I could hear them describing the guy as "weird" and I'm twenty-five feet away, I can promise you that the customer your talking about, who's in between the kitchen and my table, can as well. After 20 minutes, we received our food. The chicken noodle soup was warm, but not hot by any means and my partners fish and chips was a bed of French fries with two small pieces of fried cod upon it. The breading for the fish was like that of a corn dog and revealed MAYBE a quarter cup of cod in both fillets, of you can call them that, combined. We ate what we wanted and left. I did not report anything to the staff because I didn't think it would solve anything but for $38 pre tip, I would expect a better meal. Going forward, we'll be using this store for the occasional shopping trip but the cafe will be a hard pass.

COME HERE. Whether you are visiting or live here, it is an absolute must. The cafe's vegan "chicken" sandwich is life. It is truly perfection. That aside, their other foods are amazing as well. Their vegan selection is great with many options across the board as well as gluten free. There is a lot to see here. Worth it for the finds!!!

The Market Cafe has been one of my favorite places for quite some time. I am a teacher and a colleague and I have a standing date for dinner every year before we chaperone the homecoming dance. I also love their breakfast menu and bring my out of town guests here. The Santa Fe salad is my favorite if I am trying to be a bit healthy, but today I went for the chicken bacon panini and fries and it was delicious!! I walked around the grocery store too and they have a great wine section, as well as a variety of gluten-free options for pasta and snacks. Highly recommend!

Great cafe attached to a food co-op market. Huge servings for a great value. There are three plant- based options and we recommend the tofu banh mi. It has just the right amount of spice. Noticed others drinking wine while they waited for their takeout. We’ve been twice and service is always friendly and excellent, which is rare these days.
