Ayer Coffee
17292 McFadden Ave # C, Irvine, CA
Crema's Take
“Ayer Coffee has mastered the art of the matcha drink with three distinct strength levels that have inspired genuine devotion from customers, particularly their Matcha 2 which strikes an ideal balance that keeps people coming back. The espresso work is equally solid with baristas who nail the fundamentals—think perfectly textured foam and that right interplay of sweetness and bitterness—making their traditional coffee drinks worth the wait alongside their creative beverages. Fair warning: the lines move steadily but they're often substantial, and you won't find pastries here, so come for focused, well-executed matcha and espresso rather than a full cafe experience.”

Friendly service. They have a variety of matcha and coffee beverages. I ordered a custom Matcha Americano. Wish it was stronger and not so watered down. Their standard drinks may be better.
Coffee is solid. 9/10. Foam is great, flavor is just right, right amount of sweet and bitter. Down side is the long lines and lack of pastries. Less than 8 people waiting, worth the wait . Anything more than 15 .. don't think so. Service was great. Friendly and helpful. Have tried salted Saigon and banana coffee. Initial hit is strong but after it mixes, perfect
Come get your matcha fixxxx. They got three different levels and I enjoyed the matcha 2. Probably going to be a long line but they keep it moving. Matcha 2: Gettt We actually subbed the vanilla syrup for normal syrup and it was so gooodddd. It wasn't too sweet by default and it was so light and creamy still. There's hella other coffees which all sounded good so I'm excited to come back and try the other ones too. They ran out of salt bread when we were there so we were sad :( There's almost no room inside and the line is wrapped around the outside. With around 8ish people in line I waited maybe 15 minutes? So not bad. Drinks: 9/10 Service: 8/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Value: 6/10
Matcha lovers rejoice! This is an amazing matcha/coffee shop in Tustin and one of the best you'll ever have. As someone who love matcha im so glad to have finally tried this out. The lines are long but move really fast, well worth the wait. The matcha is delicious and not overly sweet, which I love. Very flavorful and creative. The coffee drinks are STRONG and just as good as the matcha. Staff is really friendly and customer service is great despite the large number of customers you don't feel rushed. Great place.
A couple of time that I saw a long waiting line outside this Coffee & Matcha shop. I finally gave it a try and stayed in line for 15 minutes right before they closed. Never had Matcha all my life and I ordered Coconut Water Matcha. It’s really good, not too sweet, and for no sitting area, the assembly line is pretty packed inside. When you see employees smiling doing their work even right before they close, it’s a good sign that they will survive not because of the hype, but because it radiates from the employees. Korean Salt Bread, I will get you on my next order!
