It was our first time to go to this place. We wanted to try it out and gets a little treat for our Valentine's party. When we got home and opened the bag, we realized we did not get what we ordered. So I left the party and returned to the store. They gave me what I ordered, but no apology. I expected that they would do something to make things right. Like a coupon to entice me to come back get a discount, or something. All I got from the woman who waited on me was a blank stare. I called back to leave a message so the owners would know what happened. I man picked up the phone and said he heard my conversation with a person who took my order and gave me the wrong thing. I told him I would like to be a satisfied customer and recommend their place to my friends. Nothing satisfying from the conversation. The man said that I probably don't fit with their business. We will not be going back. My recommendation is to go someplace else for French pastry. The pastry from this place was not very good anyway.
This is a review only for macarons. I tried other macarons in surrounding areas and cafe Francais had the best ones. I tried a few and coconut rose is my favorite. Ginger lime piqued my curiosity. It’s not bad. It’s a small shop with few seating. They do have free parking unlike the other shops we visited for worse macarons.
Our first visit but not our last. I wanted to try everything. It's all beautiful, it's all art. There is art on the walls and in the pastry cases. A lot of the art you get to eat! I tried the Caramel Carrot Cake Smasher and it was a lovely treat that I savored and didn't rush through, because I didn't want it to end. The first bites were delightful, but as the experience developed, I was met with a blissful surprise. And then, another. I'll let you find out for yourself. Go.
I tried a captain crunch macaron that was a light delicious flavor. The chocolate filled croissant was decadent and perfectly flaky. I also tried a peach pastry with cinnamon and sugar topping that I don't remember the name of that was to die for. This place might become a weekly stop. ❤️
The only french style bakery in Tucson, so for that reason it’s good. Pastries are decent, although not as good and more expensive than the best options in other cities. Coffee was horrible, asked to add only a small amount of flavor and it tasted like it was half syrup. If I come back I would just get pastries to go.
