Crema's Take

This Georgetown gem strikes that rare balance of being both a serious coffee destination and a vibrant community gathering spot, where baristas like Thomas pull drinks with care and the architectural elegance rivals what you'd find in much larger cities. Beyond the coffee, Tatte shines for its European-inspired pastries and thoughtfully prepared breakfast and lunch options, though their baked goods seem to shine brightest when you stick with their standout items like the halva brownie. The open, light-filled space with its central pastry bar and conversational seating arrangement makes it equally perfect for a solo coffee ritual or a lingering meal with friends.

Grabbed a bite to eat and enjoyed the clean and well decorated area. Anyone looking for variety of food will or be disappointed. The service given was pristine and all of the food was exquisite. I would definitely come here again if given the opportunity.

I think this is officially my favorite bakery and coffee shop in the entire country. As someone who grew up in Russia, I’m spoiled by beautiful architecture and truly high quality food, and this place delivers both. Everything feels thoughtful, from the space itself to what’s on the plate. The food is exceptional, the coffee is great, and the service is just as impressive. I couldn’t recommend it more.

I love Tatte! Best meal in the US. Coffee is a little bit sweet, but anyway, i love it😻 Thomas! Best coffee maker! Come and find him!

4/5… I will say sandwiches are all typically pretty good, soup as well. Their baked goods though are very hit or miss. The halva brownie is terrific, the cheesecake in the cups are meh, and what they call “monkey bread” is more like a muffin shaped croissant, could not taste even a hint of cinnamon or sweetness!!! Still very respectable clean place, and this location is kind of cool in an old bank.

The space has a really open concept where the seats are arranged in different ways on the edges of the restaurant space while there’s a square bar concept in the centre with all of the pastries and food and drinks being served. There’s also an outside seating area which was full along with all the other areas throughout the day. We ordered the lamb Shakshuka and it was top-tier. I think I’ve only ever had one other shakshuka that can go toe to toe with the one that we got here at Sweet Maple. The espresso and the Americano that we got was not my favorite, but I totally understand that everyone has their own preference of coffee. I also had gotten some drip coffee which was quite sour for my taste. But the food was sensational. I have not tried any of the pastries so I cannot evaluate them. Maybe at a future visit I will try to get some of their sweets and their savoury pastries to see how their execution on what looks like a French themed patisserie spread is. I really love the white walls that go all the way to the top. The video I’ve added is just hilarious to me because I was looking desperately for outlets and they are 50 feet up in the air. I found it so hilarious that I wasn’t even mad that they were possibly out of reach unless you can fly.
