Monstera

1721 Crystal Dr, Arlington, VA

Crema's Take

Monstera is a beloved breakfast destination that's earned serious devotion for their generously stuffed burritos, particularly the barbacoa and chorizo varieties, with their salsa verde and creative additions like crispy fries inside earning special praise. Fair warning: the lines move slowly and portions are rich enough that grease occasionally escapes the foil, but most visitors agree the quality justifies the wait and the price tag. If you're in Arlington craving an exceptional breakfast burrito that locals rank among the best in the DC area, this is worth the patience.

Burritos are so so tasty. Especially the breakfast burritos with fries inside. Salsa verde is excellent. Bowls are also very good!

I received a super breakfast burrito and a breakfast burrito. I chose the chorizo and the grease was leaking through the tortilla, leaking through the aluminum foil, and seeping through the bag. I can't stand when this happens, that amount of grease is unacceptable. It's a simple fix of straining the protein. The burrito was on the warm side, even though the pico, crema and cheese may cool the inside a bit most prefer the inside to be hot, not warm. I wouldn't return but it was fine to try. The salsa verde was flavorful and had a good spice to it.

Best burritos in Arlington hands down. Arguably the best in all of DC. The lines are long but it's definitely worth the wait. I prefer the Monstera burrito with the beef barbacoa but my wife got the super breakfast with the carne asada and it was also fantastic. The charred peppers and onions really take it to the next level. Also get the salsa Verde and thank me later. Fair warning though it's a bit spicy 🥵

Don't go to this place. We paid $40 for two pretty average burritos and waited over 30 minutes to get our food. It's not worth the money or the wait.
