Philz Coffee

Even though I informed the store manager of an employee who had been rude to me and that I would not communicate with that young, disrespectful employee again, either the manager did not notify the employee of this or he disregarded her just as he had been disrespectful to me, for he tried twice a week later to bait me as I was going to, and then from the bathroom. Of course his manager was not present. Very immature.

The specialty coffee was meh. It was just flavour syrup in americano and warm milk. The coffee itself is good and so would stick to normal latte. The bagel was great with a healthy serving of packaged cream cheese. This Castro location is rustic and the staff is friendly.

I was in the Castro and craved a cup of hot chocolate, and Philz was right around the corner and right within my budget. Their hot chocolate isn’t my favorite, but they are in my top 10. I had a small hot chocolate with light sweetness and it met my expectations. The employees were so delightful, and I’m happy to see Philz support the people of the Castro district and its pride culture. It’s a really warm and welcoming place to grab a drink. Overall, 4/5.

This by far the best Philz Coffee I have had. They are fast yet take care to make a great cup of coffee. I loved the fresh blending of beans and the pour over. I enjoy my coffee black and they make the best! Plus the atmosphere is welcoming and decor is great! Everyone was friendly - it was a great experience even though I just went for a cup of coffee!

Can you be more blown away by a simple cup of coffee? Here maybe you can. I loved it and fell for their dedication to honouring such a beloved civic Leader. Long live the Castro!
