Crema's Take

This beloved Glendale institution is a SoCal pilgrimage stop where the pastries are genuinely exceptional—their guava pastries, cheese rolls, and flan are the stuff of road-trip legends, and nothing seems to disappoint. Beyond the stunning array of baked goods, they've perfected the café experience with creative specialty drinks like dulce de leche lattes and a proper cubano sandwich, all backed by genuinely warm service that makes you feel like family. The long lines tell you everything you need to know: this is a place people drive hours for and come back to again and again.

You can’t come to SoCal and not stop at Portos. Their cheese rolls and guava pastries are chefs kiss but honestly I’ve never had a bad pastry here! Not only are they a delicious must, they’re also very affordable. Don’t forget to grab a drink and a meal! Food is equally yummy!

Lovedd the food. I got the cubano sandwich and the dulce de leche latte 10/10 would recommend. Service was amazing and our server Andrea provided excellent service. She was very nice and made the experience amazing. Would come back again!!

There was a long line when I came in yesterday, which says it all, Porto’s never disappoints. The flan is perfectly creamy, the fresh fruit tart is light and refreshing, the almond croissant is flaky and rich, and the chocolate vegan chip cookies and chocolate hazelnut besitos are absolutely delicious. This is my go-to place for family birthdays, important celebrations, or even just a well-deserved cheat-day treat. Always a win.

I drove 8 hours from Sacramento to come and try this bakery out that everyone was saying was the best food the ever had. Not only was it the best sweets I ever had it was ridiculously under priced, I honestly asked the manager how they were making money lol. The same food I bought from here would have easily been 4 times the price in Sacramento. Delicious food and a good price you can’t beat it. When you go in ask for George, he was very kind and patient while helping us since we were from out of town.

I wish they cut people off here like they do at bars when someone’s had too much. I’d be first on the list. This place is SO good. Truly something for everyone: they have savory potato balls and croquettes , bread , cakes and flaky croissants. The prices are super affordable. The service is always incredible. I’ve been so many times and never had a bad experience. Everyone who works there is so kind and welcoming. Try the guava strudel — a party for your tastebuds.
