Crema's Take

This beloved Rochester bagel shop wins hearts with its transparent, watch-them-make-it operation and an impressive lineup of creative flavor combinations—from spicy everything with cucumber dill to Montreal-style varieties. The efficiency of their multi-person ordering system keeps the inevitable line moving, and the convenient front parking makes it an easy grab for busy mornings or a worthy destination for a casual meetup with family and friends. Fresh-baked bagels with equally thoughtful cream cheese pairings and customizable breakfast sandwiches make every visit feel special, even during the lunch rush.

My sister and I were looking for a bagel place to try. I got a spicy everything bagel with cucumber dill. Literally the best bagel I’ve had in Rochester. You could see the bagels being freshly made too. Highly recommend.

Balsam Bagels is a go-to spot. They have a huge selection of bagel and cream cheese flavors, and the custom breakfast sandwiches allow for basically unlimited combinations. The bagels always taste incredibly fresh, which really sets them apart. Whether you want a classic combo or something more creative, Balsam Bagels never disappoints.

You can watch them make the bagels as you stand in line! The line was long, but worth it. There are many employees taking orders. If you just want bagels in a bag, you can skip the line. The bagels are delicious, and I also tried the almond poppy bread and decaf coffee.

A fantastic stop, amazing bagels! We tried the Montreal Everything bagel and it was delicious. It was pretty busy and it's a small place so it did make it a little overwhelming. Could benefit from added seating inside as there were only 4 tables and all were taken. Other than that everything tasted great! Highly recommend stopping here, if it's busy be prepared to wait though.
