Common Ground Coffee Bar
81 Ed Perry Blvd, Oxford, MS
Crema's Take
“Common Ground Coffee Bar is an espresso-focused spot in Oxford that takes pride in the details, from serving drinks in proper ceramic cups and saucers to genuinely engaging with their customers—the kind of place where staff gets excited about doing things right. While they clearly excel at crafting strong, specialty drinks and creating an aesthetically pleasing atmosphere that welcomes laptop-toting regulars, they're still working out some consistency kinks with their pastry selection and drink execution. It's the sort of neighborhood gem worth revisiting to catch them on their best days, especially if you're seeking a solid morning coffee without traveling far.”

This coffee shop is a great find in a college town in Mississippi. I was actually the first customer they served using their ceramic espresso cups and saucers, and the staff was genuinely excited about it, which made the experience feel special and personal. The double shot of espresso was fresh, hot, and very well made. I was also amazed by the number of flavors and options on the menu—there was so much to choose from. I tried sausage balls for the first time, and they were a pleasant surprise that I ended up really enjoying. Overall, a cozy, welcoming spot with thoughtful details and excellent coffee.
I tried their chocolate milkshake and it was good. They had no chicken/veggie sandwiches or pastries or any savory options.Service was average. The coffee shop is aesthetically pleasing.
They make the lattes absurdly sweet to hide the fact that they use cold brew instead of espresso and charge extra for you to get the drink you are actually paying for. Will not be returning.
The employees were super nice and helpful and already remade my drink because the soy milk was out but the matcha is either expired or just not good quality. I would have asked for a different drink but it was only two people working and they were already super busy. Hopefully they get better quality matcha soon.
I spotted this place from my hotel window and was grateful that I wouldn’t have to travel far for a good, strong coffee in the morning. Once I arrived there this morning, I felt like a kid with a new toy (okay, indulge me a little bit, please). I walked in and the vibe from this place was so inviting—the opposite of what coffee is supposed to do to you; calm and soothing. My barrister, I’ll say “N” (forgot just that quick), was ready to take my order with a smile. There was such a large selection that I didn’t know where to start. So, let me add that “N”, this was the very first person who ASKED ME, “ tell her what you like”. My brain was like, “ this does not compute.” People don’t take the time to ask these types of questions. She tailored my drink to my specifications, and it came out perfectly. For the sake of this review, I’ll share what I had. However, let me warn you that my taste buds are not the same as yours. It was two shots of espresso (always) made like a latte but with a small shot of vanilla flavoring. Again, it was just right. Before there is any judgment, I am not one of those nitpicky coffee people. LAUGH… I look forward to hitting up this Coffee Bar again before leaving this area. Additionally, if you’re in the area or live nearby, please stop by and enjoy the experience of this coffee house. I forgot to add that they have a drive through as well.
