Crema's Take
“Galinette is a charming French bistro that doubles as a specialty coffee destination, perfect for those who want to linger over a leisurely morning or afternoon without feeling rushed. Beyond the excellent traditional coffee drinks, the kitchen shines with classic French fare like jambon beurre sandwiches, beef tartare, and French onion soup, paired with thoughtful wine selections and quality pastries that make it equally compelling for a slow lunch or casual meetup. The genuinely friendly service and inviting atmosphere—especially on the outdoor patio—create the kind of space where you'll naturally abandon your afternoon plans to stay longer.”

Chicken sandwich was delicious! 😋 Very tender, full of flavor! Escargots were yummy and French onion soup was rich and savory. Service was excellent. Very attentive and friendly 😊 Nice atmosphere too. The food took a long time to come out but I guess they need to savor the flavors.
Wonderful stop for lunch, and decided quickly to cancel the rest of the afternoon, split a bottle wine (fun selection), have apps, entrees, and dessert, and slow down and enjoy. Never was rushed, had great service, enjoyable conversations with the team, and went back the next day.
Ordered 5 burgers, every single one of them was raw to the point of moo-ing. They refunded our money, but we were still left trying to figure out dinner for our family. Absolutely disgusting.
We had an amazing experience at Galinette. We ordered the beef tartare, jambon beurre, frites, and coffee. The tartare was fresh and full of flavor, and the jambon beurre was outstanding with tender, delicious pork. The coffee was different than what my mom was used to with its more floral notes, but the food really stood out and made the meal special. Our server Carl was warm, attentive, and kind. He explained each dish and made the experience fun and welcoming. I loved that we never felt rushed, which to me is the heart of French dining, taking time to savor each bite. The space is beautiful with open seating, walls of wine, the French flag outside, and unique mural art throughout. Galinette captures the spirit of French food and culture, and I will definitely be doing what I can to spread the good word. The owners built a gem to the city. Thanks!
French onion soup was of solid quality, a very appropriate option for a cool November afternoon. The salmon was cooked to perfection: juicy and flavorful. The chocolate dessert tasted very good. The staff was very attentive and helpful, the light pacific vibe of the place helped me relax. The place does deserve its title of the local gem. Don't forget to put on a jacket or a vest: it's Outer Sunset's weather outside, after all.
