Little Red Coffee & Catering (Fort Erie)
46 Queen St, Buffalo, NY
Crema's Take
“Little Red Coffee & Catering is a genuine neighborhood gem where owner Les has created a welcoming two-room sanctuary with one wall of windows that floods the space with natural light—perfect for lingering over a perfectly pulled latte or fresh-baked cranberry scone. The pastries and baked goods are made daily in-house, and the menu thoughtfully accommodates dietary preferences with generous vegan options, making it as inclusive as it is delicious. Whether you're settling in with a laptop for hours, meeting a friend, or grabbing a full breakfast before a lakeside walk, the combination of affordable pricing, craft beverages, and genuine hospitality from an owner who clearly cares creates the kind of place that feels less like a transaction and more like community.”

Very affordable cafe. 2 rooms of seating, one with a full wall being a window which is lovely. The owner Les is kind, accommodating, intelligent and likeable. Lots of vegan options including 2 sandwiches, a wrap, 2 soups, a salad, chocolate chip cookies, date squares, scones and most of the drinks.
Excellent baked goods done fresh in house each day. My favourites are the shortbread-like chocolate chip cookies and the cranberry scones. Craft beer/wine available and the lattes are some of the best in Niagara. A fair bit of cozy indoor seating available, and patio seating when the weather is nice. The owner and staff are wonderful people - always a smile and a good time at this coffee shop. In Fort Erie, almost nothing beats Little Red Coffee's quality. I highly recommend to anyone passing through or near Fort Erie!
Updated review: Pls view update review _____________________________________________ The Wyck Recommendation: Little Red Coffee (Fort Erie) Rating: 4.5/5 The Tiny Red Café Where Kindness Feels Suspicious Some cafés try to look warm. Little Red Coffee is warm. We drove all the way from downtown Toronto, two half-frozen business partners on a dumb little side quest to save a meeting that was one missing printout away from ruin. Imagine Finn and Jake, but the sword is a printer that probably doesn’t exist, and the dragon is a Toronto barista who’d say “not my problem” 90 percent of the time. But Little Red didn’t. The barista didn’t flinch. They fired up their printer, handed us our doc, and poured an espresso in a glass mug so big it felt like a magic potion. The big city felt a hundred miles behind us. Cold, distant, forgotten. What Was Ordered One massive espresso in a glass mug that scoffs at “single shot” A cold iced coffee big enough to keep two city people awake til Buffalo A cheddar scone crumbly, savoury, like your queer aunt baked it fresh that morning Service Commentary Not just “nice” rare. The kind of neighbor-saving, fix-your-day kindness that’s extinct in big cities. Free pads and tampons in the washroom, free stickers, free books, a printer ready to rescue your entire afternoon. No eyerolls, no “not my job.” Just a genuine “Yeah, we got you.” Vibe Check If Toronto café culture is all headphones and dead eyes, Little Red is the opposite. A piano by the window waiting to be played. Free books to borrow, free stickers to pocket, local art for sale. A group of older ladies gossip in the back room like it’s 1963. Near the counter, three strangers talk like they’ve known each other forever. It’s the kind of place that makes time slow down. People become people again and you wonder why we ever let that go. The Space Itself Retro diner tables, bright red chairs, plants that look better cared for than your houseplants. Dog portraits, rainbow signs tucked into corners, a toy wrestler perched under a sign that says “Progress is Not a Straight Line.” There’s a guestbook full of scribbles from loyal weirdos. A patio out front with matching red chairs. Linger long enough and you’ll spot ten more treasures hidden on the shelves. About the Neighborhood A sleepy Fort Erie strip you’d never expect to host an indie café like this. People cycle in from Buffalo just to sit on those red patio chairs. Parking’s easy and odds are someone local will wave you inside. Hits & Misses ✓ Super queer-friendly and genuinely safe ✓ Big-hearted details free books, stickers, local art for sale ✓ Piano and gossip corners real community energy ✓ Staff who’ll save your day when 90 percent would say “get lost” ✓ Drinks that laugh at chain portion sizes ✗ Tiny inside fills up fast when it’s cold ✗ Hours can be unpredictable so double check before you drive in ✗ Limited food come for a treat not a meal Final Verdict Little Red Coffee is what happens when a café actually loves its community back. It’s where you can gossip, play piano, pocket a sticker, borrow a book, or save a doomed meeting with fifteen desperate minutes to spare. So rare it’s like stumbling on a tiny café dimension, a warm pocket the real world forgot to bulldoze. So rare you half-expect a cartoon cloud to swallow it up when you leave. We’ll be back because this side quest deserves another level. Perfect For Toronto escape artists craving real human connection Side quests that need saving with a scone and a magic mug Keeping Fort Erie weird in the best way perfect for the neighborhood that deserves it
The only things that saved this from Being a 1-star review is that this is a small business, the homey-nostalgic atmosphere, and the sandwich was pretty good. Long story short I waited nearly 1 hour for a sandwich. I was the first one in there and it got busy fast but I shouldn’t be waiting for everyone else to get their orders filled before they start making my order, and if you make someone wait that long the least you could do is throw in a cookie or a baked good as a kind gesture. Atmosphere is great, food was decent, service could be improved though. I would’ve appreciated a heads up or something because I was on a break from work and needed to get back, I made sure to ask as well if they’re even making sandwiches as I realized it was still early and there was only one person working. There was actually 2 but the other did not join in until it was real late in the game lol…
I recently visited a coffee shop by the lake in Fort Erie. The location is fantastic, offering a short walk to the beautiful lake views and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made for a positive experience. However, while the coffee and food were satisfactory, neither stood out as exceptional. The real highlight of this spot is its convenience and scenic setting, making it an ideal place to relax and enjoy the view.
