Crema's Take

Leavity is a serious bread-focused destination where the 20-hour sourdough fermentation and house-made ciabatta justify the pilgrimage, paired with thoughtfully crafted coffee drinks that complement rather than overshadow the pastries. The team's genuine warmth and generosity—regularly surprising regulars with free items near closing—creates an atmosphere that feels less like transactional cafe and more like gathering at a friend's table. It's the kind of place that inspires loyalty across state lines, where both the avocado toast and the focaccia are cared for with real intention.

I adore this bakery, and I don’t even live in Utah ! I fly in for work and came for the first time last week and I am so so glad I did. I am someone due to genetics and common sense would never just eat any bread in the USA especially not at my hotel breakfast. So I found Leavity online and qualified it as a pure bakery to buy a loaf for my mornings. Little did I know it would be one of the best loaves of sourdough I’ve ever had. It was so good that I ended up giving so much away including the omelette makers at my hotel. They also couldn’t believe how good it was. I also enjoyed a piece of toast and butter with a divine tea (see photo) while I had a wonderful conversation with all the Leavity team that was there. They were so sweet, kind, and fun and shared with me so many amazing food recommendations for my visits to Utah. To put the cherry on top, they gave me a free extra loaf of focaccia that sent my tastebuds to heaven. I gave the rest of it to one of my focaccia addicted coworkers who also fell in love. Thank you for everything, I can’t wait for my next trip to Utah to come say hi and buy more bread !!

I love the people who work here! Every single time I've come in (after noon, close to close), I've gotten something for free because they needed to clear their stock. Their focaccia is vegan (just olive oil for fat), and their bread is delicious. They sometimes charge you for a half-loat and give you 65%. Very generous people who love their craft; you can tell from the books on flavor and baking on their wall.

This is one of those places you're going to go back and order again. Best avocado toast in Utah, Vegan friendly place. Amazing sourdough, amazing ciabatta, highly suggest some jam on the side with your pb and banana, when you go back to order again. I'd drink the raspberry jam if they sold it like that... you read that right. cheers y'all, -Nate

Leavity’s sourdough isn’t just bread — it’s a 20-hour labor of love, slow-fermented for deep flavor, perfect texture, and easier digestion. First Day: I appreciate the craftsmanship behind bread (long fermentation, quality grains). I’m visiting from out of town only for the day and rode a scooter through the rain to get here. They were closed on Mondays though, but fortunately the door was unlocked and the man was so so helpful. He was courteous and overly generous with offering me something I could enjoy. Definately have to come here if you’re in Salt Lake City area.. his name is Todd! Last day in town- what an amazing breakfast we had. The view is spectacular and the Decker soothing. I can’t think of a better thing to do before heading to the airport to leave Salt Lake City. I got six extra loaves to give to my friends this afternoon when I arrive back in Kansas City.

The aroma of fresh bread and spices hits you when you walk in. I got the Pepper & Plumage and I easily would get it again. The fresh, in house ciabatta was crunchy on the outside and the fluffy pockets inside absorbed all the cheese and pepper spread. The Mexican mocha was spicy (not hot, but in an aromatic way) and rich without being overpowering. I also got the special Walnut & Berry loaf and it was incredible. The integrity of the bread made it so easy to slice. I love!!
