Crema's Take
“Red Otter feels like the kind of place where the owners genuinely know their regulars by name—reviewers consistently praise the friendly, caring staff and the spacious, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for settling in with a laptop or meeting a friend. Their cold brew is a standout that keeps people coming back, and they nail the details on specialty drinks like their crème brûlée latte with cold foam, while the pastries and scones round out a solid all-around experience in a prime Kenmore location.”

Been going here pretty frequently since it opened and every visit is a great experience. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the owners seem like genuine all around great people who care for the community and enjoy what they do, the baked goods from other local businesses they partner with are delicious, and the drinks are always amazing. If I could, I’d give even more stars!
It's fine. I feel I'm a bit spoiled for choice with the amount of cafés in the area, so I wasn't particularly blown away by it. Here's the breakdown: Food and Coffee: Both were good, I had a jalapeño cheddar bagel with cream cheese (which was enjoyable) and a latté with lavender and vanilla syrup. I forgot to ask about milk substitutes which is entirely my fault and I paid the price later. The latté itself was fine, the flavors were subtle enough that you could cut through them to taste the coffee which was just okay. Service: Friendly faces and a well cleaned station go a long way towards providing a good morning ritual and this was the highlight for sure. This alone is the best reason why one might head through the doors. Atmosphere: This is what brought things down for me, and I realize partly it's subjective and partly it's on me. The distant whir of the blender brought me back to mornings as a barista myself, although not all of those memories were positive. The decor around the sitting area felt like an afterthought to me, with crayon drawings of otters by what I assume to be a medley of children and adults with a youthful nature being the one thing I found brought some warmth. If you're in the area, stop in, I wouldn't go out of my way to get here though.
If you prefer a milder coffee, the crème brûlée latte might be a good choice. The cold foam was really nice and the atmosphere was spacious and enjoyable. It’s located in a great spot with free street parking. While I’ve had better coffee elsewhere, it’s probably just a matter of personal preference.
I'm thrilled to have this new coffee shop in the neighborhood! Everyone is super friendly, their coffee is AMAZING and delicious scones also. Their cold brew is my favorite (I add hazelnut and a splash of half/half but I've tried several other drinks and they are all equally outstanding. The decor is beautiful, they also have a fireplace with cozy chairs and a cute area if you have little kids too. Can't say enough about it, really love it here!
Red Otter Coffee is right in the heart of Kenmore and is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. They have delicious coffee drinks, and very friendly staff. Lots of places to sit, or take a walk down Delaware Avenue. We were so happy with everything we’ve gotten there.
