The Works Bakery Cafe
1000 Elm St, Manchester, NH
Crema's Take
“Tucked into Manchester, this warmly-lit neighborhood spot excels at the full experience: expertly pulled coffee pairs beautifully with fresh, ingredient-forward food like those legendary overnight oats and perfectly toasted breakfast sandwiches on house-made bagels. The baristas genuinely care about getting your order right, the vibe invites lingering over a second cup, and families clearly feel at home here, making it the kind of place where the coffee tastes better because you actually want to stay.”

This place was really cool, i definitely liked the vibes of the place and the baristas were all extremely nice and honestly they had really good coffee with some Mac & cheese as well! Other things that were there is they had seating but honestly not that much, also it was street parking only so be weary when trying to find a parking spot. They had some really good like interesting latte flavors to try as well it really was cool with how much stuff they had :). Definitely like this place and would recommend it to people trying to find other cool places!
Great little place and just great, quality ingredients. The overnight oats are quite possibly the best you will ever have and the yogurt parfait are the absolute best in the city. Please don't ever change those 2 items! The wraps are fantastic, try the western! The smoothies are right up there with the "smoothie shops". Just a straightforward, simple, no nonsense quality bite. I recommend this place to literally everyone I know. I have yet to have an experience worth complaining about and I get food here 3-5 times per week whether in house or through Doordash. I hope it sticks around for a long time, I really do. Wonderful place and the food makes me smile. What more can you ask for... Maybe 10 million bux but let's not hold our breath right... For now, It's The Works Cafe!!!!
The Works Café delivers on all fronts. The food is fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. I had a breakfast wrap that was perfectly toasted and filled with tasty ingredients. Their coffee pairs well with the meal—smooth, not too strong, just right. Everything tasted like it was made with care. Service was excellent. The staff was friendly, fast, and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about creating a positive customer experience. What stood out most was the atmosphere—peaceful, clean, and ideal for relaxing, working, or just enjoying a quiet moment. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable staying for a while. My only small observation is with the pico de gallo—it could use a bit more boldness in flavor. A touch more seasoning or lime would really make it pop. Still, this didn’t take away from the overall great experience. If you're looking for a calm café with great food and friendly staff, this is it. I’ll definitely be back.
I had a free 🆓 smoothie 🥤 coupon from the Hippo 🦛 Press Newspaper 📰 and that is how I found out there was a Works in Manchester. I have visited the Works in Portland, Maine and I know about the one in Portsmouth. (I have favorite cafes in Portsmouth that I frequently visit when I can and I have not checked out the Portsmouth location yet.) Service was great. I was greeted with a smile 😊 by an eager associate. I liked the set up inside. It is similar to the set up in Portland but I wasn't greeted by a red squirrel 🐿️ at the door. There is outdoor seating here l at the Manchester location. WiFi is also available. I had a Tropical Sunrise 🌅 with a Sliced Cold Smoked Kosher Salmon Garlic 🧄 Bagel Sandwich. I felt full just reading the name 📛 of my sandwich! Both were very good 👍! I have also tried the Classic Smoothie 🥤 and Super Chicken 🐔 Melt. Very good 👍! I am going to recommend a visit and I hope to visit the Portsmouth location soon 🔜!
Great new spot in Manchester! I got a bacon, egg, and cheese on the works bagel (everything bagel). The bagel had a lot of flavor and was made fresh. The sandwich itself tasted great, was a good portion, and everything was packaged up well and came out super fast. I also got the Mocha iced latte. Huge win here the coffee tasted amazing and it was chocolatey without being overly sweet. I love that they get their ingredients from high quality, local vendors. Honestly one of my new fav cafes in the area. They're also on Doordash! You should definitely check it out.
