Feng Cha - Midtown
3210 Louisiana St, Houston, TX
Crema's Take
“Feng Cha's Midtown location shines brightest when you order their signature creative drinks like the crème brûlée dirty boba or fruity options such as the strawberry overload and summer melon—these are the standouts that justify the shop's reputation as a reliable boba destination. However, recent visits suggest inconsistency in both execution and service, with customers noting pricing discrepancies and occasional quality dips that don't match the excellence of other Feng Cha locations. If you're craving their specialty drinks when they're made well, it's worth a visit, but quality control seems to be a concern at this particular spot.”

Sad experience at this location! Lady was nice said welcome in however there was a guy behind the counter with her drinking a drink while she made my drink. Are they supposed to be drinking while customers are getting drinks made? Idk but I know if you serve food you can’t eat or drink while working behind the counter. Well today was my first day experiencing Feng Cha earlier at the Fry Rd. and Tuckerton location where it was clean lady welcomed me in paid full attention to me and helped me deciding and I’m glad she did because the mango fantasy was absolutely delicious we’ll here I go thinking that the midtown location would make the drink the same and FAIL this drink is nothing like the one I got earlier. This location needs alot of help with staff and cleanliness it just felt nasty and dirty walking in this location NEED TO DO BETTER! imagine if everyone did an average job it shows here!!!
No idea how this place has five stars. Extremely sketchy. I went in to order a four seasons tea. On the menu it says $4.25 and I asked for it hot. When the receipt came it was $5.43. I asked why there was a price difference and they looked around the menu sheepishly as if they didn’t know what the prices are, and as though there is some kind of price increase for hot tea. I said that’s too much for a hot tea and asked for my money back. Since it was with card I asked for my receipt to make sure that I would be refunded properly. They said they can’t find the receipt (mind you this was at noon on a weekday where I was the only customer in there. This whole interaction took maybe 45 seconds.) I was standing in front of the receipt printer the entire time and they claimed to not be able to find it. I’m guessing that they did some kind of illegitimate charge that they wanted to cover up and “couldn’t find” the receipt when they were going to get caught. Neither employee was apologetic about it at all. Very, very sketchy behavior. Get your receipt and watch what you’re charged here
Was in the area for lunch and stopped here for drinks after. Loved the strawberry overload. Had lots of strawberry bits in the drink. That was my favorite. The other drinks tasted just fine. Although I think the chrysanthemum ginger honey tea served hot would taste better than iced. The place is very spacious and counter staff very patient taking our orders. The foam cakes are pretty good. Really soft and spongy, light, and not overly sweet. I think I'll try with strawberries next time.
Drinks are always good as this is one of the chain ik that is safe to go to for boba options. Would always recommend the crème brûlée dirty boba but if you’re wanting fruity, go for summer melon! It literally taste like a watermelon smoothie but it’s pretty refreshing. Only things I didn’t enjoy about this location were how long it took for my 2 drinks to come out, and when it did, the barista didn’t even try to notify me of it or anything. A call out would’ve been nice lol. But my bigger issue was how my cup wasn’t even sealed properly. The cup has melted so the film was useless and the drink kept oozing out
I’ve always enjoyed Feng Cha at different locations but unfortunately, this visit didn’t live up to those experiences. I ordered the same drink I always get, but it tasted disappointingly bland and watery compared to what I’m used to. It’s surprising how much the quality can vary between locations. On the bright side, the interior is spacious and provides a nice place to relax and hang out. However, if you’re looking for a consistent drink, I’d recommend sticking to other locations instead. Hoping this location improves the drink quality soon because the ambiance deserves better.
