Gold Stripe - Cactus Alley

Crema's Take

Tucked into Lubbock's charming Cactus Alley, Gold Stripe is where skilled baristas craft cortados and espresso macchiatos with real precision, pulling shots that taste like they actually care about every pour. The space itself feels like a welcome escape with eclectic, retro vibes that hit just right whether you're settling in for hours of work or meeting a friend, and the team here genuinely makes you feel seen with thoughtful recommendations and genuine warmth. Fair warning on the pastries and light food side—most comes prepackaged—but everyone agrees the coffee, atmosphere, and people more than make up for it.

Best coffee in Lubbock!!! I hard a cortado and the flavor and creaminess was perfect. The two baristas were friendly and highly skilled. Very cool eclectic, retro vibes that make you feel welcome. Can’t wait to go back.

Some places have bad coffee and great staff. Some great coffee and bad staff. They have both. Staff was very inviting, gave some suggestions; and interacted. Told them we were from out of town here for our daughter’s surgery. They paid for my drink and then very politely said, “Even if you’re not religious, we’re praying for you.” I was very touched. Oh, and the coffee was phenomenal from the Ethiopia pourover to the honey vanilla latte with housemade syrups. I’m a coffee roaster myself; and they have some great coffees here.

Most of the food is prepackaged and heated up. But the coffee, vibe and staff are AMAZING!! Such sweet gals. The vibe is very chill, lots of chit chat but I still managed to get a couple hours of work done. I would deff recommend you making a trip here. I had a Lechera Latte with oat milk (picture) , sooooo good !

They completely get my traditional espresso macchiatio at both locations. Today I got a ham quiche as well. The Cactus Alley scenery adds to the experience.
