Crema's Take

Tucked in Greer, this espresso-focused spot excels at both classic lattes and creative signature drinks, with a particularly devoted following for their smooth cold brew and matcha offerings. The beautiful, inviting atmosphere makes it a natural gathering place, and regulars rave about baristas like Faith who combine genuine warmth with skilled craft in every cup.

I try not to leave poor reviews, as I understand how it can impact a small business. But, this is at least a two location business. I’ve been in here multiple times, and I have never had a good experience. It’s clearly a franchise issue and likely not an employee issue. They seem to always be short staffed. If there are more than 3 people in line you will be waiting for 20+ minutes. The coffee is fine I guess, it’s nothing special. It’s better than larger franchises which is not saying much. The entire experience feels rushed and chaotic. They give everyone to go cups unless you ask for a mug to dine in, even then sometimes they are moving so fast they still give you a to go cup. It’s just sad to see that Hartness has let this place come in, be closed on Sundays, and offer the worst service and experience out of any dining experience in the entire Hartness area. Chestnut is no where close to the standard on any front that the Hartness community is establishing and experiencing. I’m hopeful it will improve, but I guess we’ll see. If you’re in town or looking for good local coffee, these would be good alternatives to Chestnut: Phin+ Coffee (authentic Vietnamese coffee) and close to Hartness. Cohesive Coffee is also excellent on all fronts and worth the 15-18 minute drive from Hartness. I’m only leaving this review in hopes of eventually creating change. Obviously it’s a new location, maybe they will figure it out. But for now, it’s not even worth the time for us to try and go over there. Also, I tried to leave one star, but then it wouldn’t show my review, so I’m trying three to see if it will show up publicly. Not surprised they don’t want to take accountability for not being very good at what they are trying to do.

Enjoyed Chestnut Coffee at Hartness. Was really impressed with the quality of the drinks. The latte was smooth and well-balanced, and the cold brew was bold without being bitter, exactly what you want from a specialty coffee spot. The interior has a clean, modern feel that makes it a nice place to sit and get a little work done or catch up with a friend. The only downside is there’s no drive through, which would be convenient on busy mornings, but it’s still worth parking and going in for the quality of the coffee if you have the time.
