Crema's Take

This beloved Doraville spot has earned its stellar reputation as a destination for craveable Taiwanese comfort food, especially their signature crispy fried chicken cutlet with five-spice seasoning that keeps locals coming back for years. Beyond the exceptional food at wallet-friendly prices, Java Saga shines as a genuinely welcoming gathering place where staff celebrate customers' milestones and the unhurried atmosphere invites you to linger with friends over coffee, matcha, or creative signature drinks. It's the kind of neighborhood gem that manages to feel both casual and special, where a simple lunch becomes memorable and a birthday surprise feels like genuine hospitality.

Had SUCH a wonderful time at Java Saga yesterday! It was my friend’s birthday, so when we surprised them and the staff overheard, they made them a cream soda as a birthday treat. ABC sandwich was delicious as always. Fries super fresh and crispy. Amazing service from whoever took our order and made my friend their treat.

This is one of my new favorite places to eat. The food is inexpensive and surprisingly filling. I ordered the ABC combo that I saw on Instagram since I wasn’t sure what to try, and I also got the Taiwanese chicken nuggets—I’m not sure if that’s the actual name.

I have been going to Java Saga for years--takeaway usually at the old location, and both takeaway and dine-in at the Buford Highway location. Highly recommend the Taiwan #1 Hot Chicken (I always get the crypto level heat) and the loaded fries. You will not be disappointed! It's distinctive and always excellent!

One day I was really craving that classic Taiwanese-style fried chicken cutlet, and Java Saga’s version truly hit the spot. The crispy golden crust paired with their signature five-spice seasoning made it flavorful, slightly spicy, and absolutely addictive—one bite just wasn’t enough. I also tried their Lu Rou Fan (braised pork rice), which is such a Taiwanese staple. The minced pork was rich but not greasy, perfectly coating the rice, and the combination with quail egg and pickled cucumbers added a nice balance of flavor. Lastly, I loved the creative touch on their packaging—the doodle with “Everything is delicious” really stood out and made the whole experience even more memorable. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving authentic Taiwanese comfort food!

If you're looking for a really great (but kinda messy) chicken sandwich, this is the place to go. The food is really good the service is really good. There's very little indoor seating if that means anything to you. Highly recommended we will be going back.
