Crema's Take

Chef Charlie Mitchell—a two-Michelin-starred veteran—has turned this tiny Brooklyn cafe into the rare third place where serious specialty coffee meets genuine hospitality and exceptional pastries. The cortado here is legendary enough that regulars buy their beans to drink at home on Mondays when the shop is closed, and the vibe strikes that perfect balance between fastidious craft and laid-back neighborhood soul. This is the kind of place you'll want to become a regular at, not just visit once.

What to expect

Espresso-focused, with creative signature drinks. A slow-sit spot, good for meetings. Full breakfast and pastries on the menu. Parking available.

Incredible Black-owned coffee shop by two-Michelin-starred chef and James Beard awardee Charlie Mitchell -- what have we done to deserve such a place 🙏🏾

It’s my favorite coffee in the neighborhood hands down. I buy their beans so that when they’re closed on Mondays, I still don’t miss a beat :)

Great cafe in Brooklyn by a rarely seen owner/operator. Go for the specialty coffee but stay for the vibes. It's very NYC, and very Brooklyn.

There was this cool boy that worked there with long hair he was different and so was the service, used to come every morning for a vanilla Latte and he did it amazing. Now it’s just a dull experience. Reminds me of the others around the area.
