KENSLEY'S Açaí & Café

I love tiramisu and was really looking forward to enjoying it at home. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. Parts of the sponge were dry and didn’t seem fully soaked with espresso. The cream in the other cakes didn’t taste as fresh as I had expected, and I didn’t feel great after eating them. For the price, I was expecting a higher level of quality and flavor from the cakes I purchased today. I was excited to try this place based on the positive reviews, so this experience was really disappointing.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of this coffee shop. It is kept very clean. There are different sized tables which is nice so you can meet with a group or just a couple of people. The person that the counter was very friendly and described the coffees that I wasn't sure what were very well. I tried the coconut affogato and it was the best thing I've ever had! The espresso was so smooth absolutely no bitterness to it like some coffee shops have. Highly recommend trying it! I will definitely be back to try more coffee here!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Hands down one of the best café experiences in Chesapeake. Kensley’s Açaí & Café truly sets the standard for quality, flavor, and atmosphere. The breakfast was outstanding. Perfectly cooked scrambled eggs with cheese, fresh bread toasted just right, creamy avocado, and a side of fresh fruit that actually tasted fresh. Every bite felt intentional and homemade, not mass-produced or rushed. The latte was exceptional. Smooth, rich, and beautifully presented with whipped cream and a cookie on top. It was the perfect balance of indulgent and comforting, easily one of the best coffees I’ve had in the area. Beyond the food, the café itself is warm, clean, and inviting. It’s the kind of place where you want to slow down and enjoy your meal. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes a huge difference. Whether you’re stopping in for breakfast, coffee, or an açaí bowl, Kensley’s delivers consistent quality and a great experience every time. A true local gem and an easy five stars. I will absolutely be coming back.

My wife and I shared the Kensley's pineapple acai bowl (not on the menu) and Bori sandwich. I also had the Americano coffee, which was very smooth and well-balanced. The bowl and sandwich were both excellent. The bowl had every fruit option, sliced almonds, Nutella, and scoops of acai, coconut, passionfruit, and matcha. We had the gluten-free bread, which was very good. All in all, it was a great experience, coupled with friendly staff. We will return soon!

Phenomenal food!! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was so welcoming!! Loved this restaurant and will be coming back! Altered the usual French toast because of my preferences, but it usually comes with the strawberries, blueberries, bananas, Nutella, and whip cream. The chai was so delicious!!
