Mojo Coffee

I popped into Mojo this afternoon looking for a quick pick me up. The girl working asked me a few questions to help me figure out what to order. I appreciated her guidance and settled on a classic iced latte with oat milk. It was delicious. The space was filled with folks working and enjoying their beverages. I’ll definitely be back!

This morning I was genuinely excited to get coffee from this place based on a good experience the day before around 5 pm. I had ordered an oat milk cappuccino in an 8 oz cup with less milk and it was made without any issues. On this visit, I asked for the same thing and was told cappuccinos can only be made as a 12 oz and could not be adjusted, even though I was fine paying the same price. Since cappuccinos are typically smaller drinks around 6 to 8 oz, this was confusing. Service was also slow with only two customers ahead of me. The coffee itself is fine, but between the inconsistency and lack of flexibility, the experience was disappointing.

For any matcha lovers, read this review first. After coming to MOJO four times and this being my fifth time coming to MOJO with being the first time actually ordering a matcha, it was not my favorite. The experience interacting with the staff is stale with low appreciation on making their drinks, specifically their matcha, with love. As for the lemon poppy, I loved it!!! For any matcha lovers — it’s ranks that the bottom. It tastes to “milky” and not “matcha-ie”.

It was storming so we ran in here since it was right nearby and I’m glad we ran into it. The place is super nice, I loved the aesthetic and it was cool that we could enjoy the view from inside. We ordered the blackberry matcha which tasted nice but the quality of the matcha wasn’t the best so I wouldn’t get it again. The environment and the service were really good though and I definitely plan to return to try their coffee.

Came in excited to see a new place opened in downtown jersey city. I love trying new coffee shops, especially non-chains. I tried their maple cold brew with a splash of oat milk and a croissant and the croissant was fluffy and a solid 8/10 to perfection. I've had better at French cafes but that's pretty close! The cold brew was DELICIOUS. There is some seating, pretty lively, people meeting and working on laptops. It's a big enough space they could add more chairs and tables too. Great location with lots of foot traffic. Clean. Great coffee! And there's even a bathroom (so rare to find)
