Crema's Take

Tucked in Minneapolis with a rooftop patio that feels like a secret escape, this spot shines brightest when you're settling in for a slow morning—the iced matcha hits different here, and their cinnamon toast latte is the kind of drink that makes you linger. Beyond coffee, they've built something genuinely appealing for gatherings: solid breakfast sandwiches, thoughtful pastries, and a sunlit outdoor deck that makes you want to actually stay awhile rather than dash off.

I want to start by saying that I think this coffee shop has the potential to be great. Here is some constructive criticism that I have gathered from my somewhat disappointing first visit: ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere is a little all over the place. The interior design is charming and nice, I like the color scheme, but it is a large space so maybe filling it in with more art, variety of plants, variety of cozy seating options, would help fill in the space and make it more comfortable. The music was too loud for me and there was some vibe whiplash with the song choices. A curated, calmer playlist could bring consistency. COFFEE For the price, I was disappointed in my coffee. I ordered one of the signature lattes, and it tasted pretty bland. I’m not a coffee expert but I think the recipes could be more interesting. SERVICE The baristas were very friendly, and although I originally got the wrong order, they quickly made me a new one and were apologetic. The WiFi didn’t work for me, not sure if this was my fault. Overall I have high expectations of this coffee shop, due to its prime location and big shoes to fill. With a bit more intentionality in the atmosphere, a reworking on the recipes, and streamlining of basic services, this place could be a campus staple for years to come.

One of the better iced matchas that I’ve had and the breakfast bagel sandwich was great — I will be back for more. I hadn’t been to a coffee shop with a rooftop patio before that was perfect for the weekend morning breakfast after my run
