You enter into a story of the Wizard of Oz. It is all around, the menu is from there too 🙂 The food is delicious, really tasty, homemade, fresh bites. We chatted with the owner, very sweet lady. It is the place you wanna eat, and don’t forget to ask why the Wizard of Oz - you’ll love the response.
It was such a pleasure to talk to Becky and learn a little about the history of the place, the struggles of the past and the re-rise of Eggheads. I am rooting for the team. The food was excellent. Must try the Pumpkin Cream Waffle. Too Good. I had Uncle Henry's Farmhand favorite - the bacons were really good. I scraped that plate well, rest assured.
We went on a Sunday am and arrived around 9:00 am got on the waiting list and got in around 10:30. In the meantime we spent 45 minutes walking around talking to the locals and visiting the skunk train location. Got a seat, drinks and food, finished eating which took another hour. Eggheads has been in business about 50 years in Fort Bragg and is a small establishment with 12 tables including booths. Bathroom out back through the kitchen, like I said small. We had "not" corned beef corned beef and it was probably the best we ever had.I had garlic veggies Omelette and it was stuffed full. Totally worth the wait. If your not in a hurry go here you won't regret it.
The food is wonderful and the people are super nice! I had the Flying Monkey Potatoes and husband had the Housemade Chunky Corned Beef, not Hash. Both were perfectly flavored. The potatoes were cooked just right in both. My potatoes had amazing veggies cooked just right, no mush. They gave me blackberry jam for my toast with my meal and I have to say it was the perfect flavor pairing. Definitely enough food. I was only able to finish half. My husbands eggs were cooked perfectly and he was also super happy. They also have good coffee with a bottomless cup. We have tried to come a few times but it was too busy on the weekends we came. I am super glad we were finally able to try this beautiful lil local spot!
This place was recommended to us. I like a sit down breakfast. My husband prefers mocha and a pastry. The atmosphere has a Wizard of Oz theme. It was crowded for a Monday. They were training someone in the kitchen, so they were slow getting out food out. It was worth the wait. I had the eggs Benedict and country potatoes.
