Roggenart European Bakery, Bistro & Cafe
4401 Wilson Blvd UNIT 103, Arlington, VA
Crema's Take
“Roggenart is a genuinely cozy European-style bakery cafe where you can settle in for hours or dash out with a robust Lavazza espresso and a lightly sweetened pastry like their strawberry tart or croissant pudding. The airy space with abundant natural light and abundant seating makes it equally suited for solo laptop work or lingering meetings, though service can be inconsistent depending on who's behind the counter. It's the kind of neighborhood spot that feels like a proper European cafe transplanted to Arlington, complete with excellent baked goods that pair beautifully with their coffee.”

The place was cozy and pleasant. But the service is worth 1 * because when I came in, both baristas were on their phone. One of the saw me and just walked away with his phone. I had to cough so that the other girl would notice me. I noticed that I was not the only one but probably 5 people after me had to wait because apparently they were too busy on their phone at the counter. Very unprofessional. The coffee was good though.
My egg and cheese croissant was delicious, but the salted maple latte was plain. Customer service was very poor. No greeting even when I said “Good morning” to them. When I asked for the WiFi password, the girl just nodded towards the wall without saying a word. It seems like they do not want to work on Sunday. The shop was clean and organized. The bookcase would be better if it had more books.
Warm cozy bakery Cafe, we need more of these. Coffee was robust, they serve Lavazza beans. Pastries are lightly sweetened, we liked the strawberry tart and also tried the croissant pudding. T
Just amazing. A perfect cup of coffee on the way to a busy meeting filled day. Togo cup in hand would have preferred to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. It is definitely very welcoming and so peaceful here. It was super difficult to choose which pastry I was going to have today. So many wonderful choices and they all looked so amazing. I can't wait to stop here tomorrow, so I can get some treats to accompany me on my next adventure.
Cute cafe with a ton of seating and super friendly staff. I dropped by Roggenart after seeing it on a list of "recommended cafes in Northern Virginia" and loved the large space, abundant natural light, and wall of books that customers are free to borrow and thumb through as they sit. It's generally pretty quiet, so it's a great place to work or read. The coffee is solid, although a bit too acidic for my taste, and they have a bunch of fun pastries. At the barista's recommendation, I decided to try the lemon danish; the crust was nice and flaky, but I found the inner filling way too sweet. The lemon curd was slightly tangy, but most of the natural sourness had been overtaken by the sugar.
