Persimmon Coffee
11 W Girard Ave, Philadelphia, PA
Crema's Take
“Persimmon Coffee is a cozy West Philadelphia gem where two dedicated baristas punch above their weight, crafting phenomenal lattes and some of the best matcha you'll find in the city with genuine warmth and attention to detail. The espresso-focused menu might be focused, but the quality is undeniable—reviewers rave about complex, perfectly balanced shots and specialty drinks that show real care, making it worth the occasional wait. It's the kind of intimate spot where the baristas actually remember how you like your drink and greet everyone like they're glad you're there.”

Cute little spot with very good coffee. The baristas are very friendly and greet everyone who comes in, but are a little slow, as there are only two of them. However, their lattes are phenomenal, if a little pricey, and the seasonal drinks are very fun and creative. They have a lot of vegan options too. The coffee is a little bright, but very flavorful. Very cute little spot which I recommend highly.
Coffee Shop No. 526 Persimmon Coffee Philadelphia, PA July 31, 2025 Persimmon Coffee might be a small shop, but you can expect big flavor and genuinely awesome service. Walking up West Grand Avenue, I spotted their A-frame sidewalk sign about half a block away — a simple orange persimmon with the word coffee in lowercase letters. Minimal. Clean. It drew me in immediately. Inside, the coffee counter sits just to the left. The space is compact but bright, tidy, and quietly stylish — almost giving off a Nordic minimalist vibe. There’s not a lot of fluff in the seating or décor, but honestly, that’s okay. You’re not here for the fluff. You’re here for the coffee — and it’s fantastic. For once, I wasn’t in the mood for a cortado (I know, shocking). I was torn between a cappuccino and something called The Cloud Dancer. I think the barista could sense my indecision. He smiled and said, “Try something new.” So I did. The Cloud Dancer is one of Persimmon’s signature drinks — iced, made with espresso, ginger beer, club soda, heavy cream, and the ingredient that completely sold me: blueberry preserves. It was delicious — unlike anything I’ve ever tasted. I sat there, sipping slowly, not scrolling my phone or reading a book, just enjoying the moment. The flavors reminded me of that childhood joy of eating a popsicle on a hot summer day, syrup running down your chin and fingers — only this time, it was the grown-up version: cleaner, calmer, and just as full of delight. Enjoying life, one coffee shop at a time!
Shoutout to Ash for some stellar service - truly phenomenal specialty beverages and the espresso was perfectly balanced and had complex flavor! The atmosphere was welcoming and a perfect spot to take your time and truly experience. a perfect little stop visiting town.
We were visiting from out of town and found this coffee shop through Google maps. They didn’t have much variety (just one coffee but in different forms) but it was a good and they did a good job with our flash brew and espresso. There isn’t much seating and it’s a small cafe but the staff were friendly and they do good work. Certainly recommend,
Im not even going to front with yall but this was some of the best matcha I have tasted… the barista was so kind and he knew exactly how I wanted it because I am picky with the sweetness (I hate when its too sweet and all milk). I got the matcha with simple syrup. I cant really speak for the pastries or anything though. Its small in here but super cute atmosphere!
