Chef's Corner

300 Cornerstone Dr, Winooski, VT

Crema's Take

This Winooski breakfast and brunch destination strikes an impressive balance between casual counter-service efficiency and lingering comfort, with reviewers consistently praising their standout Eggs Benedict and house-made pastries alongside reliably good coffee. The counter-order, table-delivery setup creates a relaxed vibe perfect for weekend hangs or family gatherings, though be prepared for the Saturday crowds and prices that reflect their quality ingredients and from-scratch approach. It's the kind of place where locals keep coming back for the food rather than the coffee alone, making it a genuine community gathering spot rather than just a caffeine stop.

Having enjoyed a Sunday brunch at Chef’s Corner, my wife suggested we grab a late lunch there one Saturday afternoon. We entered the clean and inviting interior and ordered our meals from large menus on the wall behind display cases featuring tasty looking pastries. Employees were quite friendly and helpful, checking with the kitchen on ingredients when we had questions and making recommendations. I ordered a vegan version of the Hippie Veggie (without the cheese) on toasted wheat with a side of greens (you get an option of greens or chips). My wife ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich on a toasted GF roll, a side of broccoli salad, and a flourless chocolate cupcake for dessert. We chose a table in the dining area and our meal was brought to us soon after. We appreciated the fresh vegetables in each of our dishes— tomatoes were juicy, cucumbers crisp, and micro greens crunchy. The maple balsamic reduction added a subtly sweet taste to my sandwich and really took it to another level. I would have appreciated a little more hummus, as the sandwich was a little dry. My wife enjoyed her chicken salad sandwich. The broccoli salad was too sweet for us; however, the side of greens that I had was tossed with a mild oil and vinegar dressing that enhanced the flavor of the fresh greens. My wife said her dessert was delicious. I look forward to returning for brunch.

The coffee is good. That's about it. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich. I ordered a California breakfast sandwich. Overpriced at about $15 each, we got food that I'd rate very slightly above fast food (think McDonalds Egg McMuffin). The hashbrowns were actually fast food quality. Nothing more than microwaved frozen hash browns. BTW, I never eat at fast food places, but given a choice between fast food and this place, I'd choose choose fast food and save some money next time. You have better options in Williston.

Amazing breakfast food. Eggs Benedict was one of the best I’ve ever had and has a slightly unique taste to it. Great restaurant all around, everyone in my party was very pleased.

Really good food. Simply good breakfast. Order and pay first, then food is delivered to the table. Self serve coffee. Excellent pastries. A little pricey.

We went on a busy Saturday. You wait for a table then order and pay at counter and they bring you your food to the table. Interesting idea... i enjoyed the bacon swiss quiche. It was soft and very flavorful. Friends had the eggs Benedict and yogurt. Everything was very good. The coffee drink were delicious too. We will return. The staff was friendly and handled the croud very nicely.
