Salon du Café
1701 James Ave, South Miami, FL
Crema's Take
“Tucked into a serene garden setting in South Miami, Salon du Café offers an enchanting escape that feels like a secret hideaway, though opinions on the coffee itself are decidedly mixed. While the specialty drinks and matcha selections show ambition, reviewers consistently flag pricing as steep even for Miami standards, and quality can be inconsistent—some rave about the high-caliber espresso while others found their drinks underwhelming. The lush atmosphere and laptop-friendly vibe make it worth visiting if you're seeking a beautiful spot for a long sit, just manage your expectations on both cost and cup consistency.”

The space is beautiful, you feel like you're in a secret garden. But the good things end there. We ordered a cappuccino, which was already at $8. And a cortado for $6. The cappucino didn't look like your typical cappucino, and it didn't taste very good either, it tasted watered down. The cortado looked like what you would expect for a cappuccino, but unfortunately it was too hot and the espresso tasted burnt. I was very disappointed since they advertised themselves as a coffee roaster place. We ordered an avocado toast with smoked salmon for an eye popping $28. It was pretty basic. We paid for $55 with tips for 3 items. For the money we paid, and the value, it was overall just disappointing. You can find better coffee and food elsewhere.
Hi, I only would like to rate the Matcha - I didn’t eat something. I’m sorry, it’s very overpriced (14$ for iced matcha latte) and the prepare it with their coffee machine - could be temperature controlled, but didn’t taste like this. Plus: organic matcha powder. Anyways, with high prices come high expectations which were clearly not met.
I wanted to like Salon du Cafe. It has a great ambiance and a nice setup, even if it’s a bit overpriced (miami beach). Unfortunately, the coffee was truly terrible. I ordered a cortado and it was, without exaggeration, the worst cup of coffee I’ve ever had - bitter, burnt, and almost tasted spoiled. I’ve been drinking coffee for decades but this one will forever stand out in my memory as the worst coffee I’ve ever had. The place has potential, but they need to fix their coffee.
We always come here when we are in town. It’s tucked away inside a quiet little garden, making for the perfect atmosphere to ease into your morning. The coffee is super high quality and we love their granola parfait!
This charming and cozy spot in the South Beach area is a great find! The menu offers a well-balanced selection—enough variety to satisfy different tastes without feeling overwhelming. The only small drawback is the coffee, which could use a slight improvement. I’m quite particular about coffee, so that might just be me, but overall, it’s a lovely place worth visiting!
