Madman Espresso

Great for a coffee, but you’ll likely be getting it to go. There are 2 tables and a window counter; however, this is less a sit and sip and more of a takeaway (unless you’re timing is fortunate) Coffee is definitely good, and makes for a great pickup if you’re heading to, or from, Washington Square. Don’t forget the Madman bakery just down the street!

I lived nearby for a year and would come here nearly every morning. I was never disappointed! The coffee is tasty and I loved getting to know the staff; it's a special feeling when someone knows your coffee order before you even place it! Even after moving boroughs I'll be coming back at least once a week. Also love that they have dog treats.

I've seen this place 100 times and always admired the scooter in the front window & today I finally went in. Cute small bakery with bar stool indoor seating. Fresh baked pastries and sandwiches, hot & coffee and hot & cold tea. I had a blueberry muffin and a large coffee. Sat at the window looking out at University Place while I ate and enjoyed a New York City moment. The staff was friendly and service very fast. Great experience! 10/10

I had the pleasure of getting to know Maria, Claudia, Lily and Navia from Mad Men. The warmest welcome everytime I come in to get my iced cortado. The girls know all of our orders and names. We can get our coffee anywhere and we choose to go there because of the cozy ambience and the sweetest and kindest women who work there. Also the coffee quality is excellent. While it has limited indoor seating, the coffee is excellent, the service is good. I really enjoyed my coffee and the espresso looked great. I’ll definitely be back.
