Cute place. Okay restaurant. Horrible bakery. Service was a shot right down the middle. Prices are astronomical. If you decide to eat here, expect the cute cashier barista boy with tattoos to glare at you like an emo punk rock vocalist 😂 while you place your order like you’re inconveniencing him by being here today. Oh and don’t expect him (or anyone) to be much help or to guide you through the menu with any ease or knowledge. You order at the counter. We dropped $50, plus we tipped $10, and we still had to put away our own plates—I don’t think anyone pre-bussed our table and they have trash cans in the dining room accessible to customers with bins for your plates and flatware. Avoid the baked goods. The donuts are not fried like Krispy Kreme and they’re not cake donuts like Dunkin’—even a good Kruller is light, airy, and crispy—these donuts are essentially dinner rolls from a steak house topped with icing: they’re a little hard on the outside and to soft and bread-y on the inside; and they’re like $5 each. Oh and the bagel. The reason for my visit was because someone said try their bagels. When I ordered it, the guy asked, “toasted, right?” I asked back, “are they fresh?” to which he gestured ‘eh, so-so’. You don’t have to toast a fresh bagel. It was the worst part of my visit because it tasted raw (I feel like they just buy Thomas bagels), and worse yet they gave me hard cream cheese—not even sliced on a plate… a few to-go containers sealed from the factory! Like the kind they give you in hotels that serve free breakfast! I feel like I remember seeing an old factory building with red bricks and the name “Kneads” painted along the top in black and white lettering when I first moved to Baltimore, which I thought to myself, “okay, that must be what this area is known for and Kneads is the place to go…” and when I walked in and saw how small the back is (I’ve worked in restaurants of all sizes and operations for a little over ten years) I assumed all the baked goods were made at the warehouse down the street—it makes sense! But now I can’t find this supposed phantom warehouse, so I’m not even sure if I ever saw it, and if they do have a nice sized factory somewhere that they bake all their goods, why can’t they make their own cream cheese in house? It’s the easiest thing to do: buy blocks of cream cheese; put them in a bowl; whip the cream cheese; serve it. Sorry—so, I explained to a woman behind the counter who was running food that I had made the mistake of ordering a raw bagel and asked if she could only toast the side I hadn’t taken a bite out of yet. She correctly informed me that (because legally once the food and plate touch the table) she would have to toast a new one for me. She made me feel like I was not a burden, which I appreciated, and she brought me a new bagel about six minutes later. I’m not sure how they toasted this bagel because it was definitely upwards of 300° F at the touch—I think they toasted it in an oven, which I guess makes sense, but—it was too hot to touch. Even after tasting it, I was still so disappointed. In conclusion, the Steak, Egg & Cheese Hash we order was actually pretty decent. My husband remembers the iced coffees were pretty good, though I forgot we even order coffee.

Amazing place. The atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming, and the staff is very nice. I think the prices are very reasonable and affordable. The wait for the food was not bad, and the guy who brought my food to me went above and beyond by triple checking to make sure my order was right. The food was delicious and I especially love the donuts. Overall I had a great time here and I’ll be back.

Currently on a MATCHA SPREE in Bmore. I give the lavender matcha a 8/10. The food though was delicious 10/10 very fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was a 10/10, cute place to chat and chew. The assortment of drinks from coffees to wine/mimosas/martini 10/10. I had the smoked salmon bagel and the butternut squash soup, 10/10! Will be back to try more on the menu!

Delicious food at this place! Stopped in for breakfast and was definitely called and tempted by the big donut display. Prices are a little bit high, but everything I had was so delicious I would argue it’s well worth the price. Seems like it would be a good place to work from.
