Crema's Take
“Le Peep is a beloved hometown breakfast destination in Champaign where families and friends gather for comforting, made-from-scratch meals like their signature sausage pie with perfectly tender vegetables and creamy gravy. The casual, welcoming atmosphere strikes that rare balance between a quick coffee grab and a leisurely sit-down experience, with staff who genuinely make visitors feel at home. Whether you're a local or passing through, this charming spot delivers the kind of straightforward, quality breakfast cooking that keeps people coming back.”

I want to clarify that this review is only about the food itself, not the restaurant’s service or staff. I ordered the seafood crepe, and unfortunately I discovered that it was made with imitation crab (crab sticks). In my opinion, crab sticks should not be presented as seafood. Imitation crab is typically made from processed fish paste mixed with starch, binders, and other additives, and in most cases it may contain no actual seafood at all. Serving imitation crab in a dish labeled as “seafood” without clearly indicating it is misleading. Customers expect real seafood when they order a seafood crepe. This feels deceptive, and I believe the restaurant should clearly disclose this on the menu. I would appreciate a formal apology and greater transparency in the future.
We recently took my family visiting from out of town to breakfast here. We always find this to be such a comforting local breakfast spot. It has a real welcoming home town feel, even for visitors, and the menu has a wonderful assortment for all sorts of diets and ages. We have a small child and he always loves the food and golf decorations alike. The service is friendly and always attentive and quick. We always will look forward to coming back and bringing out of tow company again!
Group of 7 seated right away. Always great food and smiling faces. I ordered the Down Home Sausage Pie the vegetables were so fresh and the potatoes the right tenderness with gravy and chunks of sausage it was so good. My husband got the Sea Farer omelette and because the portions are so big we shared the blueberry pancakes that didn’t miss
Let me preface this by saying that the service was great, and my review is not directed at the service provided. They were friendly, personable, and on top of things. The food was pretty good, except if you want a crepe, do not order it here, as it is quite literally an omelette with a fruit sauce on top and a dollop of sour cream. I know next time I will be ordering something else, as they do have a fairly large breakfast menu, but a limited lunch one.
A very lovely country style breakfast place. This is a good place to have brunch with friends and family. It's quite charming here. The staff here are very friendly and helpful. They have all American style breakfasts you can order. Recommended!!!
