Crema's Take

Rialto Cafe is a warm neighborhood gathering spot in downtown Fullerton where the coffee is excellent and the kitchen clearly cares about every plate that leaves it, from blueberry pancakes to carefully prepared chilaquiles and burritos. The staff here genuinely takes time with customers—whether that's the kind server who'll wait on you outside or a waiter who walks you through the menu without rushing—making it feel less like a transaction and more like being welcomed by people who actually want you to enjoy yourself. It's the kind of place that keeps people coming back, and the kind of local independent spot worth seeking out when you're exploring downtown.

I used to come here often for breakfast, so when my boyfriend and I were in DTF checking out a viral matcha coffee shop, I thought, why not stop by and give this place another try? Unfortunately, I left pretty disappointed. This cafe sits on the corner of a historic 1920’s building that once housed the Rialto Theater, which makes it a charming spot. But the charm ended there. Despite the half-hour wait (understandable since the space is small), the food was just not it. Everything we ordered looked unappetizing and tasted bland. What happened here?? I ordered the breakfast panini and my boyfriend got the two eggs any style. When I asked the server which side she recommended, she proudly suggested the hash browns. Sadly, they arrived cold and completely unseasoned, much like the rest of our meal. I really wanted to like this place again, but it just didn’t deliver. With so many better breakfast options around DTF, this will probably be my last visit.

Yes! Great blueberry pancakes for breakfast this morning. Kind and caring young lady waited on us outside. Coffee was excellent!

This place is a good stop if you’re walking in downtown Fullerton and would like a bite to eat. For 2 burritos, one order of chilaquiles, and one Avocado and Swiss sandwich we paid around $70 something+ but we left a 20% tip and total was $88 and some change. We also got a side of jalapeños for $2. The people were very kind and made sure everything was going well throughout the meal.

I met my friends at 10 a.m. and had brunch at Rialto. Actually, I don't really like burritos, but it was the best restaurant in my life. It was so delicious and all the other foods were carefully prepared without sparing any ingredients. It was really delicious and the staff kept refilling the coffee. Kindness, service, price, and it was the best. 👍👍👍

First time coming here and we absolutely loved it. The staff is super nice, very hospitable and helpful. We loved how the waiter took time to go over some of their dishes and didn't seem bothered to have to do so. We got two coffees, yes they offer refills, the eggs benedict, which are to die for, and the breakfast panini, also fantastic, and we shared the French toast. The french toast was amazing, not super sweet and pretty light. It's lightly toasted so the crunch adds a great texture to it, it's not your traditional triangle cut bread. The three dishes were shared by two adults and not one left feeling over stuffed or hungry. Just the right amount of food. Will definitely come again. Just be aware that the closer it gets to lunch time the busier they get. We arrived at 830 and there was only a few people there. They have indoor and outdoor seating.
