Colossal Cafe
1300 E 9th St, Cleveland, OH
Crema's Take
“Colossal Cafe draws visitors in with its charming, fancy ambiance and genuinely friendly staff, making it feel like a special destination the moment you walk through the door. Unfortunately, the reality doesn't match the promise: pastries and cupcakes consistently disappoint with quality issues like dry textures, slimy fillings, and overly buttery frosting that don't justify their premium pricing. If you're craving the aesthetic and warmth of a neighborhood cafe in Cleveland, the experience here falls short of expectations despite its inviting atmosphere.”

I rarely give 1 star reviews but this unfortunately warranted it. I bought a cookie and blondie. They looked delicious in the case but when I got back home and took them out they were slimy and damp. I felt around the bag thinking maybe I spilled something but the bag was bone dry. Idk if they were frozen in the case then thawed or what but they are inedible. Such a shame but now seeing the other reviews it wasn't surprising.
Oh wow, this is the worst cookies and cupcakes I've ever had in my life. They look so good when you go in to purchase them but once you taste them, you almost want to throw up. They almost taste like stale and dense- kinda like you are taking a bite of cardboard with stale frosting. Also, it's the most expensive bakery I've ever been in my life, 5 dollars for 1 cookie is insane. Trust me, im a pretty good food critic so don't waste your time or money going there!
the place is cute. But the cupcakes are disgusting, they were dry and tasted spoiled. It was cold in here and the frosting was hard came off my cupcake. the cupcakes are left out which is overly disgusting. I would never come back
Clossol Cupcake has a super fancy and charming ambiance that makes it feel really special from the moment you walk in. The staff is friendly, polite, and adds to the pleasant experience. While the cakes were just okay for my personal taste, I still enjoyed trying them and appreciated the variety they offer. Everything else—from the decor to the presentation—was lovely. It's a cute place to visit if you're into sweet treats and pretty vibes. Worth checking out!
We got the Blue Velvet cupcake for $7.50. For the price, I would have expected a better taste. The icing felt like eating a stick of butter and wasn’t very sweet. I would not buy it again. The interior was cutely decorated, but was silent. It was awkward.
